Special effects look good, but then it is the most expensive movie ever made so they had better be. The story looks meh. I have no doubt I will still see it.

Edit: The film Avatar was copyrighted for film long before the TV series and thus when they went to make the movie of the cartoon they had to find another name.

So am I the only one who thinks this looks like cliched dayglow nonsense?

My heart sank when I saw the battle scenes. Evil humans killing the innocent forest dwelling spear chucking aliens? How is this original? Looks like it's going to be chokka with thinly veiled commentary on environmentalism and the war on terror too.

I think it may well be worth going to see just for the effects. Even just on my laptop the film looks to be amazing, so I can't imagine how cool it will be full size (and possibly in full 3D if I can find anywhere near me which has a 3D screen.).

But I quite like how it looks so far, though from what I have heard the story was not what I thought it was going to be just from the trailer. But hey, sure it will be cool

^This. I'm gonna watch it anyway just to see the big-budget sci-fi human military kick ass, even if it does involve Pocahontas Night Elves.

This also sounds exactly like that animated movie that came out earlier this year where humans, who no longer have a planet, try to invade some hippy peacenik aliens and use our Doomsday Terraforming Device on their otherwise idyllic world. Much violence ensues, and then the two races come to terms and live happily ever after. Garbage.

Would anyone else pay to see a movie where the human military gleefully puts it boot on the throat of the enemy and wins the day? I certainly would.
