Aloha and welcome to game 11 of Panic’s Lashamus Campaign.

This is a 1500 point Planet strike campaign with The Traitors defending and Space Marines attacking.

A new gaming buddy named Brad is using my chaos models with the exception of his lord and his Landraider.

Darren is using his terminators and some of mine as well (the Sallies)

I missed the first round of Bastions from my local game store so we had to use my Mighty Fortress. The Traitors are defending an underground super weapon so we counted it as a single objective. And since we did not have any weapon systems I decided to bring back a bit of 2nd edition chaos rules. For every 3 hits inflicted by Chaos in close combat a single lesser daemon is summoned using the chaos marine rules. And for every failed leadership by the Marines, an additional d6 lesser daemons are summoned. These were the rules for Khorne and Slaanesh respectively. These were not the acual rules in 2nd, just what I remembered them to be

This was our first game of Planet Strike so I decided tio be reff and to keep the game small.

Here is the Traitors list:

Lash Prince with Wings

Lord with mark of Khorne with a fist and riding a Juggernaught

Greater Daemon

8 berserkers with 2 Plasma Pistols, Personal Icon and naked Skull Champion (daemon vessel)

4x6 Noise Marines with Blastmaster and 2 with Personal Icons

Land raider

And the Loyalist List:

Vulkan Hestan

Librarian Epistolary with Gate and Vortex

9 Terminators with one Assault Cannon

5 Terminators with Assault Cannon

5 Terminators with Thunder Hammer and storm Shields

2x Iron Clads with Siege Hammers and Frag Launchers. One had Hunter killers and 2 flamers, the other just a flamer and a Meltagun

=================================================================================================================

Top of the 1st

The Noise Marines take up position on the towers as Darren Launches his assult. He only rolls a one for Firestorm and creates two craters near his deployment zone. His two Iron Calds arrive as well as the Thunder Hammers and the 9 strong Sallies lead by the Librarian. Brad uses his stratagem – Krack attack (or something like that) and does nothing. Darren then runs everything

In Brads turn Darren declares Dawn Assault (or something like that). Brads land Raider turns up and open up on the Sallies, killing one. The darkness obscures the Blastmasters from the Fortress.

Top of the 2nd
OOoooops no overhead shot:(

Darren’s 2 Iron clads move in to assault the fortress, destroying one tower and wrecking another, forcing the Noise Marines from their positions. Vulkan also arrives with the rest of the Terminators and runs

Brad is hindered by the darkness which still lingers as his greater Daemon appears as well as his Khorne Lord. The Lash Prince pushes the Sallies with the Librarian into combat range for the Greater Daemon and the Lord who promptly gets wiped and the Greater Daemon takes two wounds, but tie as they have made a big dent in the Terminator squad. They also generate 4 Lesser Daemons to be summoned in Brads turn.

==========================================================================================================================

Top of the 3rd

Darren’s frontal assult has destroyed the front of the fortress and seems unstoppable. The Lash prince tries to engage the Thunder Hammers and is promptly squashed as the greater daemon hangs on by a wound. More “Daemon Points” are generated by all the close combat, help is on the way for chaos.

Brad gets poor roll for night fighting (Sun for the Sun God!). The Greater Daemon is supported by the Berzerkers and freshly summoned Lesser Daemons. The finish off the Librarian and the remaining Sallies. No less then 12 LesserDeamons are now waiting in the wings. Then the Sun Finally rises!

==========================================================================================================================

Top of the 4th

Darren seems certain to silence the Chaos Super Gun as one unit of Noise Marines are toasted by twin Twin-linked Flamers (thanks Vulkan!) as the other unit falls to Vulkan’s Terminators. The other Iron Clad drops another Wall and the Fortress is half destroyed. The Thunder Hammers move around and are also closing on the objective.

Brad Brings in a mighty wave of Lesser Daemons who hault Vulkan and his Terminators. The Blastmasters Finally get their revenge with the light of day by immobilizing one dread and adding the other to the mounting pile of rubble that was the Fortress. The Greater Daemon and Berserkers run to get into melee as the turn comes to a close.

=========================================================================================================================

Top of the 5th

The Thunder Hammers make a run for the Super Gun as Darren continues to fight off the Lesser Daemons with Vulkan.

Brad assaults the wall of his own Fortress with his Greater Daemon in order to cut a b-line to his own objective as a small group of fresh Lesser Daemons assault the Thunder Hammers. Darren rolls two ones and is left with one Thunder Hammer! If the game continues he will not be ablr to hold back the tide of Chaos……

Then I, as the reff, roll a two.

An imperial win!!!!

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

End of game overhead and a shot of the lone Thunder Hammer as he ignores the Lesser Daemons and Silences the Super Gun!

Well that’s it, I am sold! Planet strike is a BLAST. Darren and Brad thought this was the best game of 40k since the 5th edition.

Sooooo that puts the total at Traitors 5, Loyalists 4. Keeping it close!

No time lapse this time, but the next time, we promise

Aloha!

A good game of 40k is one part competition and two parts cooperation.

That last picture with the lone survivor battering his way through the Lesser Dæmons to destroy the super-gun is what 40k is all about.

Epic! That was a fun report, of what looks to have been a classic game of Planetstrike. One lone terminator survives just long enough (I suspect) to destroy the weapon. The stuff of a saga.

What he didn't mention was that the termie survived the rest of his squad losing combat and nailed his morale check down to the pip. Dude was tenacious. It literally couldn't have been closer a game.

Legs and fist of an Epic Reaver Titan. Body of the first edition Eldar Avatar (blasphemy!). Whip arm of an Inqusitor scale arco-flagelant. Wings of a toy robot hawk from the Silver Hawks series.

I built him/her within a week after the chaos codex came out as I though to my self, "Hmmm, this could be handy".

Little did i know........
