Hi,

We played a planetstrike game with 2500 points per side, marines defending, eldar attacking. Everything is painted!
You can find the battle report here:

Feel free to comment and thanks for reading.

Great report, and yeah, IG are great defenders. Reason being they have that anti-deep striking rule, I forget the name of it, where they shoot stuff as your opponents drop in. Its pretty brutal in same games, against things like Demons and Tyranids.

Hmm you mean an inquisitor with mystic? Yeah that would work quite well, that's true.
And an IG command squad with two fleet officers would pretty much ruin the attacker's day, I could imagine.

I had a quick skimmer over the pictures, but you only get one interceptor gun per objective. Not sure if you used the lascannons and the quad guns.

Interceptor guns can be mounted on bastions/fortifications or be free standing but you still get a max of 1 per objective irregardless of where you put them.

Your house rule about making back edge auto-drop denial: since you are limiting your attacker's attack vector choices ( without appropriate impassable terrain which is the legal way to do it) I would suggest a couple of things to balance this out:

1. Allow him a free stratagem point

or

2. any reserves you have that roll that table edge don't actually arrive that turn but can be rolled for again the following turn.

Nice batrep, Managarm. It's so rare to see a table of fully painted miniatures and terrain these days... Especially rare when you consider that both of these armies are well beyond simply tabletop standard. Kudos to you and your opponent, and please post more of these types of games in the future

Thanks everyone for reading and your comments! It's nice to get some feedback.

Regarding the interceptor guns: it's true you only get one per objective, so I would have had 4 in this game. We decided that the guns on the bastions should have the interceptor rule as well. So we actually played with 3 quad guns on the ground and 3 lascannons mounted on the bastions since we just have 3 of each kind. I thought the lascannons belong to the bastions but originally cannot intercept and are automated guns just like the heavy bolters.
But we may have been mistaken with that and the lascannons are not included in the bastions.

But as a matter of fact, I think the firestorm gets rid of the guns on the ground pretty fast. That was why we came up with this house rule.
