My last battle against another Nid player. The game was 1000 pointsish a piece, sorry no pictures, forgot the camera

Forces:
SM The Black Watch:
HQ: Chaplain (Terminator Army) 130
Elites: 1 Shooty Terminator Squad 200
1 Sternguard Squad (combi-flamer) 130
Troops:
1 Tactical Squad (Plasma gun, Missile Launcher) 180
1 Tactical Squad (Flamer, HB) 170
Heavy Support:
Vindicator 115
Dakka Pred 100
Total: 1025

Nids:
HQ: 4 TW
1 Broodlord
Troops:
1 Termaguant Brood
1 Hormagaunt Brood
1 Genestealer retinue
Elite:
1 Zoanthrope
Fast Attack:
Lictor
Heavy Support:
1 CC Carnifex
Total~1000 (I forgot to get his list from him for this report, so I don't know the exact number of upgrades and cost of each unit.)

The game was set as a seize objective on a pitched battle deployment. I won the initiative and he was not able to steal it. With three objectives spread out across the table I split my forces into two groups. I put the Sternguard and Tactical Squad with the PG and ML combo on the right and the Vindicator, Chaplain/Terminators, 2nd Tactical squad on the left with the Pred on some terrain a little back to provide fire support. He then deployed his TWs, Fex and Zoanthrope in front of my main battle force, his BL&genestealers in front of my right side and held his Lictor in reserve.

Turn 1:
SM: After the Nid players declarations of his impending victory I took full advantage of his arrogant deployment and went to work shooting. I first fired my SG squad against the BL&co, using hellfire rounds of course, and dealt four wounds. Next I used my tactical squad to fire at the same unit, scored a direct hit with a frag missile and dealt a wound to his BL and killed two GSs. Plasma gun fired and hit one GS killing it. The rest of my marines fired killing three more GSs reducing them to three plus the BL.

On the left side my Vindicator laid down a direct hit on his Fex and took out three HGs. My terminators, Dakka Pred, and remaining Tactical squad all fired at the TG squad and wiped them out...well there was one left.

Nids: With two of his squads ravaged, the Nid player quickly shut up and frantically tried to save his game. He moved his BL into cover in order to avoid losing it to small arms, he moved his GSs into another area for cover so as to split up attractive targets. He then moved his HGs, Fex, Zoanthrope, lone TG and Tws forward 6 inches and his lictor failed to DS this turn. He then shot at my Chaplain and Terminators with his TWs and his Zoanthrope but did nothing. In his assault phase I didn't have very much fun. His Carnifex charged forward and quickly dispatched my vindicator, and his HG assaulted my terminators, from which I took three unsaved wounds. But I struck back and reduced his HG brood down to 4.

Turn 2:
SM: I split my tactical squad on the right into two squads and move them towards two of the objectives. While I run my SG's toward my left side. I shoot my tactical squad and Dakka Pred at the TWs and deal three unsaved wounds. I hit again with my terminators and reduce his HGs to one, but he still takes down 1 more termie.

Nids: His Fex moves around my Termies in an attempt to close distance toward my tactical squad. But can't get close enough to assault. His lictor comes out of reserve and DS right next to my Dakka Pred, and explodes it...but in an ironic twist suffered a wound from the explosion. The lictor is than moved about 7 inches from my tactical squad. His TWs shot at my marines and they took three unsaved wounds. His Zoanthrope shot again...but hit nothing. His GSs assaulted one of my combat squads on the right and completely annihilated it, even with only three GSs left.

Turn 3:
SM: My SG moved into range and just Hellfired the charging fex into oblivion. I declared that I was shooting his lictor, to which he smugly declared, "If you think it will help." He pointed out his amazing cover save and doubted that I would be able to hit it, so I just shot my flamer and killed his lictor much to his dismay. My chaplain and lone terminator finished off his HG squad in assault and I assaulted his GS's with my remaining combat squad on my right side killing two of them but losing one marine.

Nids: Quickly realizing that his supposedly imminent victory was now quickly becoming a humiliating defeat the smug smiles and jeers stopped. With no he moved his BL out of cover and toward my engaged TS. He also moved his Zoanthrope back and his TWs and lone TG forward. He shot at my chaplain and single terminator and finally got rid of the terminator and dealt one wound to my chaplain. The GS fought on and killed one more marine, but was in turn killed.

Turn 4: My Chaplain moved towards his Zoanthrope and fired, dealing one wound. My tactical squad fired on his TWs and, thanks to the dice gods, completely annihilated them. My SGs had moved and then fired on his BL, eliminating it. After this my Chaplain assaulted his Zoanthrope and just obliterated it. With only a lone TG left the game was called and I won a victory of annihilation.

Aftermath: I was very pleased with the way my units performed, especially with my terminators drawing large amounts of fire leaving most of my troops free to fight back. My opponents arrogance played into my favor as I laid down a withering barrage of fire on his units. I was only disappointed with my handling of my Vindicator as I moved it too close to his troops and lost it after only one shot. Other than that it was a great match which leaves me at 3-0. Not to bad for a noob I guess.

How is it they live in such harmony - the billions of stars - when most men can barely go a minute without declaring war in their minds about someone they know.

good report, it didn't help your foe that he played a terrible list. SM's are not to be underestimated, a lot of people fail to realize this and get owned. I know I learned the hard way haha. Good job beating down that kid!
