Does anyone know how to convert Warhammer Ogres to 40k Ogryns in an effective and fairly cheap way.

The GW site has an article about that. It's pretty cheap as it just involves bitz and GS.

Usually people make ripper guns out of grenade launchers and big bayonets made of plasticard or something. Then they make a belt or belly for the gut plate, or just make the gut plate look imperial. Sometimes people greenstuff on vests, caps, pants, etc. for their ogryns to make them look less fantasy-like.

Guard players should have a TON of heavy weapons bitz, they make great Ripper Guns. Just go wild on them, tie em into your army. Ph34r has it down to a dot. A couple of mine have sculpted stomachs, my Bone 'ead (above) just has his gut plate painted basically, one of mine has an ogryn face painted right onto it.

Made from WHFB OK ogres (bulls, from memory, but could have been leadbelchers. I got the pieces off a mate, but not the box.



GS for the gut. Aquila belt buckle off a vehicle sprue. Ripper gun is an ork shoota with some tubing added. Big-a55 knife is from the orks as well (so are the hands - they are the same size as ogre hands).

Bionic eye comes from a pair of IG binocs off the heavy weapons team. Helmet is two SM shoulder pauldrons glued together to make a large oval dome, with an ork shoulderplate glued to the back.
