this is my favorite color scheme for my space marine force, burnished gold, and blood red, they kind of look like the Fire Lords chapter.

I know they are not well painted, but you get the idea.

^^^^^^ you are so right metallics just dont look right, i always liked the idea of an army with a theme based on my favoriate footbal team and maybe the captains and sergants with the goalkeeper kits

Metallics should be an off color for sure unless its dark or heavily washed IMO.

I suggest Sons of Medusa of course for the EASY color scheme with the paint I got ;D.

I really hate when people do this just because it's your army and YOU should want to know how you want it painted. I spent 3 weeks deciding and I'm happy that I decided for myself because it makes me like my minis more.

If I have to suggest anything I would just say Black Templars, Blood Angels, DA, or Ultrasmurfs. Easy color schemes and lots of references.

Go to Belloflostsouls.netand check out their minidex The Badab War. There's probably about 10 or more different chapters done for that thing, should give you some ideas for your force. Best of luck!

I may remind you that space marines field color schemes like ancient knights their heraldry.
So gold would translate to yellow.
Should look better with less metallics.

I don't think that's every OFFICIAL chapter - just the ones they happen to have up-do-date pictures for!

I think it's actually every official Codex Astartes chapter. The ones missing are the ones that strayed from the CA, like the Grey Knights and Space Wolves.

Go on Lexicanum. It has a pictoral list of the Chapters, which is really helpful, and can give you some really good ideas. Its better then the Games Workshop one.
