Hey,

Just thought I'd pass this on, since you guys might like it. Anyway; Wayland Games are soon to start stocking new Mantic Games miniatures, which apparently are pretty nice. Some of you Elvish types might appreciate these.

At the moment they're giving away a free sprue from Mantic Games' new Kings of War Range with every order, which sounds good to me: can't argue against free stuff

Anyway; Wayland are well worth checking out if you've not done so already. They're seriously good guys.

Cheers!

Edit: just noticed on their homepage that they're now the UK's Exclusive Gamezone Distributor... some pretty cool mini's those.

Thought I'd bolster this with this clip of a look at what's going on inside a box of these pretty amazing looking sculpts for high elves with a bloody awesome pricetag.

The elves themselves are fine, for fantasy elves. And the price makes them great value. I just detest their spears. They look like donkey pizzles!

Cool, I like well posed snap together plastics.

I can hardly wait for their Undead.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

I saw Mantic at Gencon - great figs, nice packaging (you essentially get a figure case when you buy them), and sweet prices to boot. They are run by ex-GW people (good ones). I got a couple of their high elves and even though I don't do that army I'll paint them up anways (can always use them in roleplay games).

From what I have seen of these miniatures, I can't say that they are on my must buy list.

I second Osbad's opinion on their spears.

I do like the look of the Gamezone Miniatures though.

They have a massive range of well sculpted figures.

I'll wait for the range to expand first.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

I don't really see there being a market for these, but I applaud them taking a risk.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

You don't think there's a market for quality plastic miniatures for WHFB armies at half GW's cost? We'll see...

A friend of mine is getting the army deal. 100+ minis for 65 quid. You even get foam trays for the minis in every box!

I applaud any competition for GW and I doubly support any competition for GW at half their price.

The aesthetic is so wildly different that these are unlikely to appeal to fans of GW elves, and combining the two ranges is a complete impossibility.

Possibly true, but I haven't met a fan of GW elves yet
You're very right about the two ranges being incompatible. The obvious solution would be for Mantic to provide all the options in the army book... hopefully they sell enough of the initial sets to make that viable. I hear their next army is Undead - I doubt they'll have the same problem, unless they make their skellies something really out there.

If they made their rank and file complimentary to gamezoneminis for the characters... ah, sweet bliss.
