Got 150 points to spare and your space marine army and aren't afraid of getting a little cheesy? Give this a try.

Take a Master of the forge put him on a bike and give him a conversion beam. Oh? is this a survivable bs 5 blast rail gun over 42 inch range max 72!!! Str 10 ap1. It isn't that bad over 18" range ether str8 ap4. Use the bike to retreat and move as needed to try to get the maximum range out of it. Try to be close to sqauds to so you cant be shot at. Oblitorators? 2+ 2+ Dead. Land Radier 4+ to dmg it. Oh deamon prince? 1 shotted. Basicly anything you want to shoot at this is the highest yeilding range weapon you can feild. Oh and if one of your vehicals goes imobile you can try and fix it to. But you should probably keep shooting. On a good day this puppy can take out 500 points easy - the definition of cheese. Oh and he bolsters defence.

This should bring the enemy close to you. If you want to be really cheesy take 2 of them. Getting heavy support out HQ is always nice.
Anytime you take him you can take 6 dreds as well. what army can handle 6 deep strike dreds right where you want them? lol. Ive never tried the dreds. But the Master of the forge is a keeper.

Unless you actually join a squad, no rule prevents you from shooting the MoF unless he is completely out of sight.

He might be on a bike but its not hard to 1 shot him. No invulnerable save makes him a little fragile. Also getting that target to be outside of 4 feet isn't always an easy task.

The other problem is that if you want to make use of that bike there really isn't a good unit to walk around with him to act as extra wounds, Maybe some basic bikes or a small assault squad. Doesn't really seem like cheese to me though.

You can't shoot independent characters within 6 inches of a squad unless you are within 12 inches of it. Pretty sure thats still a rule. If I'm wrong, you could always just put him with a squad of attack bikes or just 1 - they have 2 wounds only 40 points. Or just put him in a marine squad without the bike...even cheaper but youd lose a lot of mobility.

Oblit gets a 5+ INV or a 4+ cover save most of the time. Demon Prince has Eternal Warrior and doesn't suffer instant death.

That was a 4th ed rule. Putting him with a squad means he has to shoot at what the squad does or vice versa.

Nice try, but not really the "ownage" that you're looking for. Take Vulkan instead.
