So I frequently come on here and lurk, and then decide to post something in a thread I'm reading. Then I log in, and then have to go back to the page I was on. Is there any way that it could be set up so that you stay on the same page when you log in?

Why not just stay logged in all the time?

Redirecting is quite locked down to prevent security vulnerabilities, Only limited redirecting to certain places is allowed, otherwise people could craft links to make you login which then immediately do things like change your profile, edit your posts etc.

And as for making a target page after login, I echo the above advise to just 'remember my login' (unless you are on a public computer).

I generally stay logged in, but I share the machine, so people are always shutting it down and clearing histories and things. It's a pain. Anyway, if it can't be changed, thanks for your lovely time.

Mine's shared too, and it always signs me in fine...oh well, YMMV I guess.
