Just wondering - if the guys I play against 95% of the time are: CC-heavy CSM and Salamander Marines, would you recommend outfitting my boyz as shootas, or as CC?

gives you options, and your usually going to get more shots in before combat than you would get extra close combat attacks from the sluggas.

Well,rokkitz wounding MEQs = dead MEQs,so you don't realy stand to loose much by throwing a few in with your shoota boyz,I belive the rokkit vs Big shoota kills turn out about equal.
I'd also recomend taking some lootaz,as they can do horrible things to MEQs.

I play quite a few marine players the thing that always works well for me is PK's on every nob in every squad of my army.

Killa Kans with Grotzookas, Shoota Boyz with Nob/PK and Rokkits for cracking rhinos, and Lootas... lots of Lootas.
