Hi guys - I have a mate running an IG list, and he's looking for rough-rider ideas. I found these and was just wondering if anyone else had used Eureka models before and whether there were any comments or examples?

They look pretty good from the pic, and would seem to be easy to convert with a lance. I personally like the idea of bikes more than horses, but clearly its up to my mate!

Cheers folks, and thanks for your time.

The bikes look cool i think they'd work pretty well, but for tournies ask before you try to use them. You could even try to have the lances connected strait to the bike so you don't have to do as extreme of a conversion.

I can't say anything about Eureka miniatures, but I picked up the middle & bottom bike from EM4 miniatures a while ago:

http://www.em4miniatures.com/acatalog/MOTORBIKES.html

The police motorbike ended up on a base, as it was far too 'roady' but the trials bike wasn't bad.

And yes, the base on the first one is terrible. I'm working on that.

Yes, I use the eureka models of SAS bikers as rough riders.

They work fine with cadian torsos.

Torso swap (he's being changed to a meltagunner as it's no longer optional to give them lances). Just as well I hadn't finished doing them by the time the codex came out.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Thanks guys!

Chromedog - quick question, are the cadian bodies a bit larger than the Eureka bodies? Would there need to be some greenstuffing?

Little bit larger, but the torsos ARE wearing body armour, so it isn't that bad. Scale wise they are close enough that it isn't really an issue.

You can always add grenades or pouches or something to hide the gap.

This was a prototype SAS biker (the new handlebars weren't finished yet when I got it). All I did was drill a socket into the torso (3mm) to take the 'plug' off the legs.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

I used SM bikes and some spare small ork wheels to make trikes for my IG RR.

Think I need to go back and remake them, as they were a bit rough, even for RR. But all in good time
