My friend and I were arguing, and he left his codex at home, so we were wondering: does tyranid regewneration roll 1 D6 for every wound taken, or just one per turn?
thanking in advance,

"One dice for each wound it has lost" the codex doth decree.

Interestingly, one could claim that if he has lost 2 wounds, regenerated one, then lost another one, he should be rolling 3 dice

do the wounds permitted to take a regenerate roll for carry over into subsequent turns.

E.g. Turn 1 Fex takes 2 wounds and regenerates 1. In turn 2 Fex takes another 2 wounds... does controlling player now makes 3 rolls to regenerate (2 for the wounds taken in round 2 and 1 for the remaining wounds from round 1) or just 2 rolls to regenerate (for the wounds taken in that turn, turn 2, only)?

I would hope as a non Nid player the Fex only has the opportunity to regenerate each wound once per game!

It can be read that way, as you roll a dice for each wound lost. If you lose 2, gain one then lose another one you could claim you have lost 3.

IMO though that's playing silly buggers and you roll 1 dice per wound you no longer have.

I saw that awhile back, Gwar. For a tough Fex, the possibility to become nigh unkillable as the game goes on is tempting.

However, the description for regen says you "regain" lost wounds, which I would argue makes them no longer lost. So I think my guess at RaI matches RaW (currently missing wounds can regen every turn, but no more than that) in this instance.

There's no time limit for the wounds, at the start of each turn, you roll a single dice for each wound currently missing, even if it is a wound you failed to regenerate last turn.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Thank you all, the carnifex is long dead and I no longer have any need to know. In the end, I was right, my friend was wrong, but it sure didn't help. :(

It's 1 dice for each wound currently missing as has been mentioned.

Nigh unkillable is a vast overstatement really. In most cases Regeneration will regain 1 or 2 wounds in the entire game, if even that. Even in the case you can roll with 4 dice, the chance of rolling a six is only just over 50%. Besides, expensive Carnifexes like that are begging to be focus fired so they don't even get a turn to Regenerate said lost wounds anyway. For half the cost, Reinforced Chitin is a lot better, as it's a guaranteed extra wound instead of a once in a blue moon extra wound.

Redemption, I'm talking about if you play it such that lost wounds are always lost, so you can get up to rolling several more dice than wounds are currently lost.

The "However," bit of the post you quoted was rebutting that idea.
