It greatly disappoints me that, while khornate armies cannot have psykers, they don't get anything special to make up for this. A friend of mine recently modeled a shamanistic looking chaos lord, with marks of khorne and whatnot. This inspired me to write some homebrew rules for him (as this is what my gaming group seems to be doing now) ENOUGH STALLING! Not all psychically gifted individuals find themselves lusting after the life of the chaos sorceror. Some, despite their gifts, wish to dedicate their existance to the lord of slaughter. The most gifted of these become berzerker shamans, leading a pack of berzerkers from the front, their minds filled with violence, from the direct connection to their lord and master, Khorne. One model in base contact with the Shaman recieves a S10 AP1 hit. - 25 points. Options: As Sorcerer from CSM codex, without marks or psychic powers. Whaddyathink? I tried to go for the "suicidal warp powers" angle, in that he would be more powerful than other models at his points level, but also has almost no chance of making it to endgame.

Hmm, I don't know.
I always thought Khorne deserved a sorcerer equivalent, but I always imagined it as being more like a Chaplain. Still a supporting character, but dealing with inspiration of Khornate traits more than warp manipulation. I guess Hatred does fit in with that.
Having higher WS than a Chaos Lord seems odd too, and I think Chaos Sorcerers start out with 3 attacks base (in which case he should probably have one more).

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it. |

No. No, no, no. Khorne doesn't hate Sorcerers, he hates psykers. If it were his choice, psykers wouldn't exist.
A better option would be some kind of Khornate Priest who can bring the wrath of his god to the material universe without the use of psychic abilities.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

Khorne sees pyskery as being cowardly, mostly. He's obviously not opposed to all warp intervention in the material universe, as he does send his daemons and mutations to his followers. That's all very blunt, though. Bloodletters come down and chop you up, they don't "change the fabric of reality" or any of that Tzeentchian crap.

Then it is altogether fit that a khornate psyker would die horribly in short order, isn't it?

just make his base attacks at least 3 to be equal to a regular sorcerer and this is perfect!

Yeah I gotta say, Khorne HATES psykers fullstop so anyone dedicated to him is dead already. Also the Furious Charge power seems superflous as any self-respecting Khorne army will spam Zerkers anyway and they have Furious Charge already. Maybe cut the psyker stuff, and make him more like a Chaplain with like an aura that gives extra attacks or I or WS in an area or something. Instead of a psyker he is just "Chanelling the Rage of Khorne to his followers". A psyker for Khorne is kinda a No-No.

You just couldn't handle the truth. God knows why anyone would want that cookie anyway. I can only imagine what foul demons possess such a thing as to make it stand on its side like that. I prefer my cookies horizontal and without eternal damnation. - Ridcully
Either that or take a 4+ cover save from all of GW's red tape blocking LoS to the way to play it. - Kitzz |

Over at www.throneofskulls.com the idea of a "Blood Priest" has been thrown around similar to this.
But I agree, apocalypse blood thirsters can cause blood rage or something in enemies surely there would be some unit that can do something similar or have particular powers.

ENOUGH STALLING!
Not all psychically gifted individuals find themselves lusting after the life of the chaos sorceror. Some, despite their gifts, wish to dedicate their existance to the lord of slaughter. Khornate Force Weapon

A Berzerker Shaman may take any powers from the following list
Warptime (as codex)
Hatred: Taken at the beginning of the assault phase, Shaman and any unit he is attached to gain the "furious charge" special rule. - 10 points
Flames of Rage: taken during the shooting phase, if successful, nominate one enemy unit within 6" of the berserker shaman. That unit takes 1d6 wounds, with armor saves allowed. - 10 points

I would use more table example PSM for 6 powers.
Bloody insanity- The Shaman rolls a d6 to select a power from the Blood Scroll used at the begginning of each player turn.
Blood Scroll- 1. Unfullfilled bloodlust- Attack as normal on allies.
2. Furious Charge- Inspired by bloodlust you, (and your squad) have furious charge.
3. Blood Soaked Earth- +1 Attack.
4. Blood Drunk- May give Fleet to any squad 18" from Shaman, but suffer -1 to their leadership.
5. Distilled Hunger- May reroll to hit and wound. Ones may not be rerolled.
6. Blood For Khorne!- Everyone within 24" of the shaman Have fleet and are fearless.
quick list... idk what works for you.

Khorne made up for it with Daemonic machinations, such as the Blood Slaughterer. And ridiculously good Daemons like the Bloodthirster. And really good combat troops.
Of course, all that's gone now.
