Hi Dakka

Dont get me wrong, I love the hobby.

But damn its frustrating trying to find parts without having to get new boxes.

For example how are you supposed to find powerfists, multimeltas and plasma cannons for SM tactical squads?

Love painting but find the wife and kids dont appreciate me taking huge chunks of time with the hobby.

Anyway happy gaming to all.

for specific parts, buy them on ebay....

or you can buy the individual boxes...

you can get 2x plasma cannon, a multimelta, and a power fist all from a SM devastator box set. you also get 2x lascannons, 2x heavy bolter, and a missile launcher with it.

Devastator box is a good buy.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

There are quite a few websites which sell bits.

Some of them have adverts right here on Dakka.

I agree with buying a devastator box .

Warhammer have a side bonus where left over bits usually have demands from conversion and such .

This is important why recasting can hurt people , it denies the possibilities of that ^

Thanks all, appreciate the welcomes

I assembled my first Rhino last night and have spent over a month painting up my first tactical squad of 10!

Certain I will speed up as I do more however have another Rhino, Razorback, LR Godhammer, Vindicator, Pred (cannon/bolters) and Speeder to go along with another 15 marines, 5 assault termies and term chaplain!

lots of work to go - thinking a year (?) - so very real possibility of hovering around ebay for the parts

good point about recasting Lunahound will keep all the spare bits.

thanks again all and happy painting/playing

I understand what you mean. I tried to find powerklaws for my Orks, and eventually decided to make them myself. I would only do that for Orks, because my modelling skills are just up to the sort of junky look that most Ork tech has.

Thanks all for your replies

My solution has been

1. SM Commander boxes are great for power weapons (powersword, single Lightning claw etc) as well as combi weapons

2. Dakka swap shop for Devestator weapons for Tac squads

Thank you for your replies and your welcomes. Happy gaming!
