Quick newbie rules question here pertaining to LOS with Bastions. Is LOS measured from each gun individually, or from the Bastion itself? Most of the guns on the thing can't aim to within 12 inches of the Bastion itself if you measure like my rough drawing below: following what I would consider true LOS. Additionally, if a unit is inside the basion using the multiple firepoints, is one to assume the defenders can angle pretty much straight down to hit attackers? The rulebook simply shows a simple 90 degree firing arc from a top down isometric view and doesn't seem to say anything about the ability to shoot at targets that are close by, like figure X in the drawing.

Measured from the gun itself, which is why mounting the big guns on the top middle ring is useless.

Unless you put the little turret mounting up there as well - but then again why bother with the ring if you're just going to use the turret...

Exactly. I put the turret box thing up there, and cram it into the alcove facing the direction I expect it to be firing so it can aim down on em.

How about the firing points? Is it reasonable to assume that they can at least hit targets directly beneath them?

The firing points are on the bottom level, and have the same arc of fire as the HB's above them (essentially).

Two of the upper walls also have tiny firing points to either side of the heavy bolters. I'd say they have the same fring arcs, yes.
