I need some really scary horror movies to watch , i have never seen a single movie that frightened me other than
Arachnophobia ( well im scared of spiders ... doesnt need to be a movie to work lol )
Cabin Fever ( not scary but it made me not drink tap water without boiling it first ... )
My mom said Poltergeist and Exorcist , ( too boring cant be bothered to be scary )
Friends suggested bunch of asian horror film like Ringu series , Ju-On , Pulse , they were good as something exciting to watch . But not scary.
So i dont think ghost horror movies work at all for me .
How about scary alien horror movies? I think i saw Fire in the Sky before , but mom switched the channel :x
Most horror movies nowadays aren't very good. I'd highly recommend Stephen King adaptations, particularly The Shining and It. The Mist is pretty good too.
Have you seen The Exorcist and The Omen? I couldn't see what all the fuss was about until I watched them myself. Yeesh... kids can be scary.
A Nightmare on Elm Street is exceptional, and one of my favourite series. Be sure to watch every film, so you get to know Freddy's backstory.
And if you just want a bit of simple gore with people getting hacked apart by crazed killers, watch a Friday the 13th movie, or, if you're really bloodthirsty, Hatchet. That film was insane; there's one bit where a woman gets the top half of her head peeled away and a redneck gets his spine ripped out. Not much of a story though.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh, and I'll second Black Sheep, it's one of my favourite movies ever, and it's pretty funny too.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.
Yep watched most of Steven King's movie m Shining , It , Mist , Pet Cemetary .
Gore / slasher movie doesnt really work for me , seeing what real human trauma wounds look like i cant get myself to watch those movie without thinking "oh wow so fake"
At most i'll watch it for the action , but just cant be scared.
I enjoy hell raiser as well as Cliver Barker's work though , but only based on the character design of the cenobites.
Any good alien abduction movies? ( little grays actually scares me )
The only horror movie that ever impressed me is Jacob's Ladder .

At one point I considered making my own creature company, but I lacked the connections and space.
Spatter fest movies are the best things since slice bread (no lie) and alien movies come in a close second.
Cheese and Puckles is right BTW, the industry has taken a distinct turn into lazy adaptations and comical approaches to a serious issue. I want my horror to burn my brain eh, it needs to really attack my senses without patronizing my lesser evils.
So on and so forth thus forth and backwards.

Nope... unfortunately, but with the appropriate amount of effort (insert career here) you can create what you see needed.

You won't find many scary movies about aliens. That's a thing of the 50's.
If you want sci-fi horror, try Event Horizon or Hollowman.

Theres an up and coming alien abduction film called "the fourth kind" i saw a trailer for in the cinema the other day when i watched final destination 3D, it looks ok.
The poster has what appears to be a white owl on it.
Well then, how about Wolf Creek? It's an Australian horror movie set in the outback, far from civilisation. Pretty damn good. Terror Train is good too; when someone's head got popped, oh man, that made me want to puke.

Ohhh is that same genre as Hostel? I find that pretty well done for a slasher film

It's about a serial killer who captures, tortures and kills tourists and backpackers in the outback. It's very, very graphic and disturbing, but it's a true horror movie. That grumpy old man Roger Ebert gave it zero stars, but he just didn't understand it, and I think some newspaper reviewer walked out on it. They obviously didn't get the film, but let that be a bit of a warning to you. It's R18+ over here, for strong realistic horror violence.

Psycological thriller - The beach (quality movie)
somewhat tame yet makes you think thriller - Darkness falls (good film, just dont let kids watch it)
Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.
Fried green tomatoes. Cold Mountain. Tales of the Ya Ya Sisterhood.
Talk about terrifying.
-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG
-"Don't mind Frazzled. He's just Dakka's crazy old dude locked in the attic. He's harmless. Mostly."
-TBone the Magnificent 1999-2014, Long Live the King!
Horror these days is all gore. I don't think a movie has really scared me since the first time I saw the clown in Poltergeist (when it was brand new and I was a lil kid). But definitely the exorcist or omen and also ammityville horror. They're older so to younger folks they will probably seem boring, back in the day you had to use your imagination a bit. these days they just throw CGI and red corn syrup all over the place.
Videodrome (haven't seen it, but it's supposed to be good.)
Old Boy. Creppy bit of Korean psychological horror with some gore. As before, I've only seen some clips, not the whole thing.
The first saw. (The acting sucks!) but really, it does a pretty good job. It sucks after the second film though.
Vertigo, The Birds, Psycho, pretty much any Hitchcock work. I've alo only seen bits of these, and I'm a little scared to see the whole thing.
The Blob. The original not the 80's gak stain remake. Scared the hell outta me.
Dead Space: Downfall.
The Thing is most definatly one of my favorite movies, and yuou need to see it before you die.
And, you could always read the Stand by sir Stephen King, or Carrie, or Salem's Lot.
OldBoy isn't very scary, or gory compared to modern slashers, but it is an excellent film. (I've 0nly seen the Park Chan Wook one though)
Lunahound, try Apocalypto, it's got no aliens but still might float your boat.
