I thought it'd be nice to start a new, indepth review of the actual product. I've read a few good ones already.
I just opened my box and have one adjective.
REVOLUTIONARY!
This marks the start of a totally new era in citadel miniature design - finally!. Alex Hedström being their most talented CAD scuptor and possible the most talented sculptor anyway (though Nelson and Diaz are right up there, and Jes is a LegenD) has finally been given a platform to showcase the benefits.
These models are testament to what computers can add to sculpting plastic miniatures that need to come out of the mold. The method of sculpting remains the same, human hand sculpting away or adding material to create in essence three dimensional pixels, and digitally "proof reading" that is comes out of the mold gives a totally unprecedented level of detail and sharpness!
Just think of the potential in things like the New Dark Eldar

I'd have to agree. I've had a chance to see the mini's a couple places before I opened my own box. They are quite impressive and show's what is possible if the economics add up... I was just thinking, I wonder if GW has considered making custom sprues for battle force boxes? This, along with AOBR and BFSP, show that a custom set of mini's is possible.

i checked the link in your sig and they're not offering space hulk for 30% off, just 10%. either way, even at full price, the minis and tiles definitely are worth the price.

The question I have is; But will they? Will they put in as much effort, will they be as well produced, will they expend as much effort to give you the best. I like to think they try, but have not always been sure. The normal plastic terminators are very cool and I love them but the standard marines have more variety then them and they came long after the marines were made. I love the hulk terminators because they all look important and veteran. I dont get that feeling with the standard terminators. I remember this feeling of awe with the plastic marines, they had kit and purity seals and knives all sorts of cool things, then I couldnt wait for the terminators, the thought of what cool bits they'd have and then they came out... and they had a couple back banner bits, and shoulder bits, and a head or two but that was pretty much it. So I hope that the high hopes for the future are met with equal effort on GW part.

I've noticed that many of GW's new plastic sprues require a large amount of flash cleaning.
How are the SpaceHulk sprues?

That was actually one of concerns as well, that and the loss of some detail in the recent plastics in which two separate sections bleed into each other rather than having a crisp boundary (ie. some of the knee pads on the new dire avengers and the tails of the genestealers in the BoM box set). I have to say that while there is flash (there will always be flash) it is not a lot and there aren't any observable distortions around the flash lines. Also the details are really sharp.
Two things I didn't like, and both are minor. First, the plastic is harder than what you typically get from GW which makes cleaning flash a little harder, at least for me. Second, while the sprue attachment points are relatively good, there is one point that attaches directly to the skull on the right shoulder of the power sword wielding sergeant which was a pain cut and clean without loosing any detail.

I agree that the quality is excellent and the poses are awesome. AOBR, which I know is cheaper and a starter set and a totally different product, has mostly very static poses.
These poses are all awesome. I was putting together the genestealers, whose claws are actually pointy!, and everyone looked great!

I prefer the harder plastic, since there will be little converting. The harder plastic enables sharper and more detail and is more durable. I find it as easy to clean, and have special files for this that I recommend! (small jewellery files intended for finefinish metal work)
The harder plastic is a really good pick up though!! It's the first time, I've seen them use it and it's interesting to see, whether there will be more releases in it.

The only thing that has bugged me so far are the weird "stands/bases" that the models have. Just an odd choice.

This stuff is nice and it's a joy to play. So far I've played mission one twice and mission two once. Good fun.

Same here I will take them off and rebase it all in 30mm bases since 25mm seems short for the termis and bigger genes and 40mm bases are impractical for the tiles.

There isn't a lot of flash, but what is there is pretty thick. I've seen most people think the flash were wires.
Anyone beat mission one with Mari es? Much earned kudos to those that have! That first mission BRUTAL!!

I believe they are wires.
If you look on the back of the mission book you can see Brother Leon and Scipio have them painted as wires.

Mission 1. We had something like 9 marine losses before we moved on. Fun mission but crazy hard. Mission 2. 1 win for the stealers so far but it was close. Only 2 stealers survived. Close game!!

I hadn't considered that. If the harder plastic is what enables the crisper details then consider my protest withdrawn. I had just gotten used to being lazy about cleaning flash since I can use the sharp edge of a razor to clean most flash lines on the softer plastic. If they continue to produce minis with this detail I won't mind a bit having to use my files again.
