Well, do the figures need assembling or does each one come in one solid block?

They're about 3 pieces each. Stealers are either one piece, two piece, and occasionally more (the Broodlord is about 5 pieces).

Do the figures have the same dimensions as the 40k figures so that they could be used (with the right round bases) in 40k games?

Yes. As has been said in atleast 8 threads now, the models are the exact same scale as 40K and could be used in any game of 40K. The only thing they don't have are standard round bases, and giving them round bases isn't exactly hard (apply plastic glue to underside of model, stick on base).

THIS extensive thread has lots of pics of the miniatures, both assmebled and unassembled, including size comparisons to current lines.

To summarise: Yes, they'll work in 40k just fine.

Some of the Genestealers will require the rather GINORMOUS scenic base trimmed down to fit on a small base.

Overall the models are good, but posability is non-existent in most cases.

Also, there is some VERY thin plastic on the Terminators that will break off very easily for some of their decorations.

Well, I don't really like Blood Angels.

I guess the models have some BA iconography.

It would have been better to customize the Termies.

Some? A lot. I'm putting mine together right now and the sheer amount of blood drips is amazing. Not hard to remove though, in most cases.

I was temped to remove the BA iconography and paint them up as a custom chapter, but after handling the models have realised it might be quite a massive job. Not sure whether to paint them as BA or one of their successor chapters.

I'm surprised about the amount of BA iconography.
This definitely diminishes the usefulness of the Termies in 40k games.
I guess they shouldn't.

I've decided that in my Conversion to Deathwing for these termies, I'm only getting rid of the blood drops that are attached to any wings(to be replaced with swords). All the other blood drops can stay as "Tears of the Emperor" or some other inane fluff reasoning and the chalices can stay as fluff states that the Dark Angels have a sacred chalice, too.

These Termies should make awesome DW models.

Basically, I'm just removing the actual Blood Angels Chapter symbol blood drop to make room for the DW Broken Sword to make it the appropriate Chapter emblem.

Yes, because using them in 40k was, afterall, the main reason for making the models. (sarcasm)

It's nice that the models can be used outside of spacehulk. But that's secondary. The reason for making them was to play a boardgame called 'spacehulk'. Hard to make really intricate, beautiful models, and still have them very generic so everyone can use them for a different game.

Absolute Win for BA players. A bit of work for other chapters.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

After all, its not a bad move of GW to design BA Termies and no customizable Termies.
In this way, BA gets more attention despite their bad codex.
