Looking through ebay ive seen alot of the usual sellers have pretty much closed down now, any ideas why?
At one point i could buy a whole army on there through a single seller. Now i cant even find half the things i need.
It seems everything on ebay is pretty much auctions now, trying to find "buy it now" Tau items are allmost impossible to find.

This is my problem.
Im in the UK, and items from that buyer have a stupidly high shipping rate on them.
some of which are more expensive than the models lol

Only reason im buying through ebay rather than maelstrom is because i cant be bothered to wait and transfer money from paypal to my bank.
(i dont know any shops that take paypal lol)

Just a quick search through my feedback and gifts and hydra shops are both gone from there, no longer selling items.

That would be the GW clampdown on online sellers with no store front operation. They lost their healthy discounts.

That, and sellers getting fed up with eBay's constant fee hikes and policy changes.

My own website doesn't get the sort of traffic that eBay does, so meant a big drop in sales when I changed over... but it's much less stressful.

Between the auction fees, paypal fees, and free shipping offers, I really don't understand how some people make profit on what they sell. Especially stuff with a low $$ amount.

The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

We operate a ebay store at our studio for some of our art prints and can tell you why.

Recently ebay has enforced sellers to offer free postage on certain items, including things like dvds, casual clothing and certain other items. Supposedly this is due to ebay recieving large anmounts of feedback concerning unreasonable postage fees. But what this means is users have to include it in the items price, which isn't exempt from vat or ebay fees for that matter. In my eyes it's been done so ebay can leech more fees from the seller, which is in most cases 10% of the fnal price + the insertion fee and whetever extras such as store subscriptions. With VAT to add to that it's becoming silly and driving away sellers. Ebay will learn quick that although I can understand they want a buyers market, they need to keep sellers happy.

+ to add to that they are adding more so called "minimum standards" for sellers later this year.

They have a monopoly so they will do whatever they want. I sell on Ebay to pay my bills and I have to say they are a total pain in the ass. Hopefully they will get to the point where they have screwed up so bad that something like Google for auctions springs up and makes for a competitive market place.

I sell a lot more stuff on Amazon Marketplace than eBay. It's only good for games, books, and discs, though.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
