So here is the first model I'm building for a friend's Space Wolf army. His army is going to be heavy on the Viking imagery, even for a Wolf army. We decided his scouts, being the army veterans, would look extremely rugged, like highly experienced hunters and trackers. I think I'm about done with this guy, but wanted to post it and get some opinions before I start to paint him. A cool twist we decided on for his army was instead of using red as a secondary color on his wolves, we would use blue warpaint. This guy will have warpaint on his chest and arms. Other Marines will have their warpaint on their armor, and the placement of the paint will denote rank.

Give me all the input you have.
Oh, before anyone asks, I used Solid Green to strip tons of my old models and scavenge them for parts, which is why this guy has a little black paint left on him here and there.

Very Interesting... I would love to see them painted and more custom models.

Your GS and conversion work aside, which I like very much, it looks more like chaos marines (not a bad thing cause I play chaos). maybe the once they are painted they will look a bit different. Great work.

"I had a dog and his name was 'BINGO'!"

I agree, needs a cape of sorts.

I like the axe too, looks sweet.

I'm considering giving him a cloak, my only hesitation is it might make him look even more like a Chaos follower. I'll try it out though.
Also, I realize now that I should have posted this in the P&M Blog section. Sorry about that, chock it up to newbieness.

Love that head you used. Pose is awesome. Drilled out the barrel. Heck, you even based it already. Awesome.
This is a welcome departure from the traditional Space Wolf style which I don't like at all.

Here's a few WIP shots of the Wolf Lord I'm building for him. My camera is a bit of a fossil so the quality of the shots isn't super-great, I'm looking to upgrade soon.

Not as giant a break from the norm as the scout, but when he's done he should look a lot like a half-crazed Viking in a really big suit of armor. I'm not big on truescaling, but I want this guy to be very big and very mean.
By the way, I'll pat myself on the back and say that I am darn proud of how the backpack turned out. Not that you can make it out too well with the way my camera takes up-close shots, but I promise you, it's cool.

Just a quick update for those who are following/interested

These are both for the Wolf Lord. He's nearly done at this point, all I need to do is finish his base and head. I'm going to wait for the new Space Wolf sprue to do his head. I'm pretty sure I have the head I need already, but want to make sure the new sprue doesn't offer anything better. Also I'll probably add a few details from the sprue, but for the most part I have what I need to finish him and make him look exactly that way I wanted.
The scout is done, and waiting to be painted. I'll start on that in the next few days.
