How's it look? I wasn't sure where to put the Fzorgle, so the five man CSM squad was born. The terminators are the only three I have with combi-meltas, I have no Daemon Princes, I only have one Land Raider... so, yeah, any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

That is an incredibly solid core of troops & it will take some dealing with. with the meltas and flamers Im envisaging a rhino rush (pop smoke) with the zerkers in the LR and the Termicide squad deepstriking in. solid plan - just keep your Defiler hidden until you have some units up and close - they are surprisingly fragile.

Youve gone Fzorgle, which is always nice, how are you going to use it? Dropping units in front of the Zerkers? Setting them up for templates (flamers + Defiler BC)?

Sounds like the plan

Well, I've never really used Fzorgle, but I'm looking forward for using it for utility. Bunching them up for templates, setting up charges, moving the PK/PF in a unit seven or so inches behind the rest of the unit (following unit cohesion of course), yanking units forward for turn one Berzerker goodness, yanking units of objectives, etc. I'l admit, I'm very excited about the prospects. For the slow, the other contenders were a Chaos Lord with Pf and a Warptime sorcerer.

I usually run some Thousand Sons.

Run some plague marines. For comp lists I usually do 2 squads plague/2 chaos and maybe 1 zerkers for the counter charge. Plague marines are incredibly resiliant and they are, IMO, the best MC killers Chaos has (yay for plasma!)

I'd suggest turning the 5 man Chaos Space Marine squad into Possessed, so that your Sorcerer is Fearless when he accompanies them, and he'll be freer to Lash units around. They're simply a better bodyguard.

Alternately, go for another unit of Terminators - if you go for a Power Fist rather than a Chainfist, the point'll fit, and you can stick the Sorcerer with the Berzerkers.

You have 1 long range weapon. Defiler. What do you do when most armies drop those rhinos on the first turn or once you break out. Having things to shoot back at your enemy is the best way to get those rhinos into combat. drop the terms. Take Obliz. Drop Zerkers put heavy weapons in your sqauds. Army becomes more versitile while gaining more heavy weapons. Always a plus.

I'd do the Possessed thing, but not touch the Termies. I'd rather drop the 5 man squad, one of the 10 man units and the Defiler to get 5 Obliterators and use the remaining points on the Possessed.

I love this. I'm only use Cult marines, but this list is good. My only suggestions or questions are:

Why the extra 5 man Squad? You could use the points better elsewhere. Maybe another HQ or another Termie squad?

You could use some more heavy weapons, not saying that its a must but I could be a worthy investment. Being able to launch some pot shots across the board is always nice.

All and all it is solid. My last question is - whats the army's name/story etc. I'd love to hear it.

Spending x2 the points on regular marines to protect fearless (which, with icon of chaos glory, is basically fearless anyways) is not worth it in the slightest.

The second idea is much much better.

I'm interested in the Possessed idea and it would encourage getting into assault with the Sorcerer. The rest of my terminators are Heavy Flamer, Icon of Tzeentch, PoLC, and nekkid, so another termicide is out of the question. I'd also be loath to stick the Fzorgle with the berzerkers as it lessens his utility. He's pretty much forced to Fzorgle things to the berzerkers, which won't always be neccesary. That said, I'll play around with removing the five man squad.

I don't have any Oblits. Taking heavy weapons means not moving, which means not assaulting. I do agree that my ranged firepower is lacking, but four Rhinos, a Land Raider, and a Defiler is a lot of armor to be neutralized turn one.

The five man is there to provide a platform for the Fzorgle, as well as another Rhino. I have been toying with sticking some heavy weapons in a squad or two, just to see how it pans out. I haven't gotten around to writing any fluff for my army yet, although I did write a bit of organizational crap when I was planning on doing all Tzeentch.

Okay, so here's some different versions based on various suggestions.

Original List:
HQ- Sorcerer- MoS, Fzorgle- 125
Troops- Chaos Space Marines (10)- Aspiring Champion, Powerfist, Meltagun (2), IoCG, Rhino-255
Troops- Chaos Space Marines (10)- Aspiring Champion, Powerfist, Meltagun (2), IoCG, Rhino-255
Troops- Chaos Space Marines (10)- Aspiring Champion, Powerfist, Flamer (2), IoCG, Rhino-245
Troops- Chaos Space Marines (5)- Rhino, Plasma Gun, IoCG- 135
Troops- Khorne Berzerkers (8)- Skull Champion, Powerfist- 208
Elites- Terminators (3)- Powerfist, Chainfist, Combi-melta (3)- 130
Heavy Support- Defiler- 150
Heavy Support- Land Raider- Daemonic Possession- 240

Altered List Number One:
HQ- Sorcerer- MoS, Fzorgle- 125
Troops- Chaos Space Marines (10)- Aspiring Champion, Powerfist, Meltagun (2), IoCG, Rhino-255
Troops- Chaos Space Marines (10)- Aspiring Champion, Powerfist, Meltagun (2), IoCG, Rhino-255
Troops- Chaos Space Marines (10)- Aspiring Champion, Powerfist, Flamer (2), IoCG, Rhino-245
Troops- Chaos Space Marines (5)- Rhino, IoCG- 120
Troops- Khorne Berzerkers (8)- Skull Champion, Powerfist- 208
Heavy Support- Vindicator- Daemonic Posession- 145
Heavy Support- Defiler- 150
Heavy Support- Land Raider- Daemonic Possession- 240

This list just swaps the Termicide for a Vindicator. It adds to armor saturation and adds some mid-range firepower.

Altered List Number Two:
Hmmm, after crunching the numbers, I can't seem to fit in the Possess without completely rearranging the list.

Yeah, sorry about that. For some reason I thought you could go as low as four Possessed. You could probably do it like this though:

HQ- Sorcerer- MoS, Lash of Submission
Elite - Possessed Marines (5), Rhino
Troops- Chaos Space Marines (10)- Aspiring Champion, Combi-Melta, Melta Bombs, Meltagun (2), IoCG, Rhino
Troops- Chaos Space Marines (10)- Aspiring Champion, Combi-Melta, Melta Bombs, Meltagun (2), IoCG, Rhino
Troops- Chaos Space Marines (10)- Aspiring Champion, Combi-Melta, Melta Bombs, Meltagun (2), IoCG, Rhino
Troops- Khorne Berzerkers (8)- Skull Champion, Powerfist
Heavy Support- Vindicator
Heavy Support- Defiler
Heavy Support- Land Raider- Daemonic Possession

Well, I'd replace the unpredicable Possessed by Chosen with melta.
These guys can outflank even if they are mounted in a Rhino.

The thing about replacing the Possessed by Chosen is that I proposed the Possessed to escort the Sorcerer. If you're going for another escort for the Sorcerer, it might as well be some Terminators.
