OR

2x 3 Obliterators
1 x 2 Obliterators

7pts spare ..

Plan is to use the defiler if I am going to be playing a horde army, I know that they tend to work better in pairs but Obliterators just seem too good. I know plague marines are solid but theres only 21 of them!! Seems like not enough guys!
Could also rotate in a flamer squad if needed

Your list looks fine.

Run oblits rather than defilers. 2 BS4 S7 small blasts is better than 1 BS3 big one for killing infantry. More templates will give you more hits, which will kill more models.

21 plague marines is good. Yiur enemy have to kill the rhinos before they can shoot at them anyway. Just make sure you focus your fire on the things that threaten them, like russes and fire prisms, early on so that there is only small arms left to deal with your plague marines.

I wouldnt bother bringing in flamers. 8 small templates is usually enough for horde armies, and if it isnt you are more mobile in rhinos anyway, so you can fight on your terms.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

I agree with Regwon. One defiler in an army with no other vehicles except for Rhinos will get shot up fast- you are better off with more obliterators. If you are bringing defilers, bring a bunch of them.

I agree on not needing flamers too. You will be more mobile than horde armies and your high survivability in HTH with hordes will take care of things. Tank shocks and winning CC with your plague marines will force a lot of morale checks.

Personally, I would drop the powerfist champ off the plasma squad, drop one obliterator, and pick up a unit of termicide to help your anti-tank and draw fire away from your rhinos and princes early on.

Very good list overall though. Close to what I run, though I usually try to incorporate a 4th squad of PMs, but I play 1850.

Well, I'd drop the Champions' power fists, since this army should be able to keep the enemy at arm's length.
This would save a lot points.

Plasma is crap, run flamer melta. Warptime is 50 pts in this army that isnt going to make or break anything.

Daemon Princes look ok.

Plague marines look ok, but I prefer 2 melta squads and 1 flamer squad.
Though plagues don't 'need' it vs. hordes, it makes it easier, as I really don't want to spend that much time vs. a 30 slugga boys.

I like the Defiler/6 oblits. It diversifies the list, adds a bit armor saturation (think about it in a different point of view, the defiler might explodes, but they drew at least some str 8 weapon away from the rhinos which is good, or the other way around), and an additional combat monster.
Oblits are great, but it’s just not uber past 6 if lash is not involved.

One can drop some fists, but what would you get? There's not much wiggle room.

@PanamaG:
Plasma is crap

Well... it depends on how one wants to use the squad.
Plasma is 100% superior to all the other special weapons in reaching out and touching something at > 12"...

Warptime is 50 pts in this army that isnt going to make or break anything.

I don't know what sort of rolling you do to warrent your dislike of warp time, but I've seen it do amazingly well. You get reliable kills...and with the chaos list, reliablility is an important factor. And it depends on what the OP does with his princes, if they are his counter attack/ main CC powerhouses, then WT fits the bill.

My 7 Cents.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

List is fine as is.
Plasma is far more handy than a flamer when you need it (you have plenty of anti horde as is) and kills terminators dead. I would drop the pf from the plasma champ, though. Add a <gasp> havoc launcher to that rhino instead.

All in all, that list is at the playtest level now - it won't get much better on paper.

Cheers guys, since the plasma squad is meant to sit back on objectives dropping the PF sounds like a good idea.

Ok here's a slightly reworked list... what would you do with 92 points spare.
