My SH timer lasts about 2:55 and it certainly didn't look new when I first saw it either.

3 mins exactly.

Hopefully Beasts of War will have the second version of their sound-effect console finished soon and it will include a 3 minute timer.

My timer seems to sometimes get jammed with about 20-30 seconds left in it (which is obviously unacceptable), and you then have to tap it to get it started again.

Because of that it seems to vary between around 2:50-3:20.

So I'm using my iphone timer all the way.

My timer is 2:55.

The timer quality is the one big fail of this edition. I know that sounds a bit negative.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

I have to say that I see why they went with the egg timer (1. It was characterful and 2. It was CHEEP like the budgie!) but lets face it, when was the last time any of us came across an egg timer (especially in a board game) that actually worked properly? In all honesty, I have to agree with a comment I saw on Youtube from miniwargames.com - its only really there to stop people being really slow with their moves so I reckon that as long as you are playing with sensible people then it isn't really necessary.

Either that or you know use a stopwatch

I do not know if the Space Hulk Stopwatch works on the iPhone or other smartphones, but it is a nice application that has been updated recently.

That timer is way to slow on the PC's I've played it on so far., 1 second on the timer is almost 2 real seconds.

I use my PDA and it plays the motion tracker sound from aliens when 3 mins is up. Works great.

What program is this? Would sound a lot better than my horrendous beeping kitchen timer.

I think the best thing about the egg timer is that both players get visible access to it, though this is definitely outweighed by its negatives

They sell digital timers at Radio Shack. They have calculator
faces and you can set them to count up or down.
