I have no clue what I want my valkyrie to be equipped with! I really just bought the model because it looks amazing, but now I dont know what to give it. In my army I've got a demolisher w/ plasma sponsons and hull heavy flamer, a LRBT w/ hull lascannon, a basilisk, 2 heavy weapons squads (3 autocannons/ 2 missiles and lascannon). ive already magnetized some weapons, and played a buch of games with it kitted out differently; I would appreciate some ideas!

There are really only two good choices:

Valkyrie with Multilaser and Twin Missile Pods (heavy Bolters Optional)

or

Vendetta with three twin-linked Lascannons.

But I vote magnets!

Totally agree with the above. I find the vendetta is overall better, as it fills a unique role in the IG army (awesome vehicle/MC/IC destroyer). There are usually plenty of other weapons for killing blobs of troops (ord blasts, flamers, etc) but precious few really accurate, mobile and tough AT weapons.

Still, that relegates the vendetta to more of a gunship role, making its transport capacity slightly wasted.

thanks!i was leaning towards a vendetta myself. i dont really have anything in my army that needs to be transported, but i definitely like the 3 twin linked lascannons! honestly all my valk has been is a bullet sponge; all my friends want to shoot it down for the sole purpose of having shot down what they consider my flagship

well you can always put in special weapon squad with 3 flamers...so at least the vendetta can claim something...

Magnets so you can choose from the 3 Twin linked Las cannon Valkyrie Vendetta or the Multi Laser, 2 Missle Pod configuration is the way to go. You should put a scoring unit in the Valkyrie because of the mobility. Valkyrie Vendetta configuration is preferable because it is a very efficient way to get 3 TL las cannons for anti transport as well as a fast transport. You can get templates from Leman Russes or Manticores.

true, i do have a spec. weapon melta squad that i could zip around to cap or help in popping tanks... im definitely leaning more towards a vendetta for the 3 lascannons, but i do have magnets on the pods and lascannons. thanks for the insight everyone!

If you put a small cheap unit inside like Inquisition storm troopers or a special weapon squad, you can make your vendettas scoring units.

If you want to run it as a Valkyrie then go with the Multiple Rocket Pods. You can move 12" and fire the Multilaser and both MRPs, which is some scary firepower (2 big blasts and 3 str6 shots).

If you want to go the Vendetta route then really the best option is most likely going to be 3x Twin Linked Lascannons. This one has to move slower to shoot all of its weapons, but it eats light armor alive and is not bad against MCs/heavy infantry.

thanks for all the ideas! it definitely depends on who Im facing; Im the guy in our gaming group that has all the tanks, but my gaming group has a lot of MCs and high toughness models. I definitely have enough anti-infantry gear, and enough anti-tank, but if i faced my ork or tyranid friends I'd need the pods. Against everyone else the 3 lascannons on a vendetta work fine

I like the Vendetta more for two reasons:

one, lascannons are a so uneconomical to buy elsewhere in the codex (in fact, a heavy weapon team of them is a paltry 25 points less than a Vendetta), perhaps with the exception of 1 or 2 variants of russes (there's a soft spot in my heart for demolishers with hull LC....)

two, their rediculously tall flight stands makes hiding transports from the Vendetta a living nightmare, particularly when you add in the ability to scootch over 6" and fire all 3. Stash some autocannon teams or some Hydras on the opposite side as your Vendetta, and you'll have some nasty crossfire.

Multilaser w/ Rockets & HBs. No distraction over functional role.

I dunno, I rather like the Vendetta as a primary armour hunter, with a secondary function as a late game fast transport.

somewhat related: i noticed that the door mounted HBs have kinda odd LOS, the wing blocks shots that are farther than directly under the valk in one direction. i never really put them on either because its not a defensive weapon so if i want to get all the shots i can outta my valk, it has to move a little slower

The HBs will pivot to the front, and cost almost nothing to add.

Of course, it would be even *better* if they were S4 Heavy Stubbers...

i agree with the HB sponson, i even put them on my vendetta, it has come in handy when i no longer have any viable armored targets and i end up shooting at a marine squad or something, the extra 6 shots from the HB is nice for as little as it costs.

or

I opt for Valkyries with multilaser and twin missile pods.
These vehicles can move 12'' and fire all weapons.
They are very good vs horde armies.

Vendettas are anti tank or anti-heavy infantry.

I'd take a mix of both.
