I was hoping for a little more variety - it's all pitched battle, and the scenarios make relatively little modification to objectives or play style. The battle point modifiers are less important than just killing off enemy units.

People complain about 40k being unblanced but Fantasy is horribly unbalanced to the degree of unplayable.

Does anyone else think it would be hilarious if the only army present at the arboyz fantasy was Daemons?

Uncomped 3k fantasy is pretty crazy but even at that level there are many armies that can give daemons a pause (vc and delfs being decent for starters). That said, certain armies really have zero change at succeeding. For example ogres vs daemons, errr... lol.

I think it would be awesome if the only Ardboyz WFB armies were Daemons.

Certainly could be a wake up call to GW about the current state of balance (or more simply daemons) in WHFB at this time.

For all the moaning about 40k balance.. a huge variety of armies won 'ard boyz semi finals.. Yet in fantasy its demons, demons, demons, VC, VC, VC, DE in virtually every tournament

I have a bunch of daemons painted for 40k. I've never played fantasy. Should I put my round-bases on movement trays and see how powerful they are in the hands of a complete fantasy newb?

10 / 16/ 26 Horrors (+ Furies) for troops
Hounds for Specials
Flamers for Rare

Tho, take a BloodThirster or GUO as the General, as they're hard to kill.

You should be able to go quite far just on the strength of the Daemons army.

Eh, at 3k points with special characters allowed, you'd be nuts to not take Kairos. He's an absolute monster.

I'd do Kairos, Blue Scribes, Herald of Tzeentch, KoS/BT (your choice), 3-4 units of horrors, and some units of flesh hounds.

But I looked at the calender, and round 1 is on my wife's birthday, so the plan has to be aborted before it started :(

I had to miss the 40k 'ard boyz for my little brother's wedding too.

So, despite there being three scenarios, it all comes down to 'Kill the other guy as badly as you can'.

Not that my Dark Elves are complaining much.
