I know the D6G have started talking about this game, is anybody else interested in it? My group picked it up shortly after release and are really impressed with the clarity of the rules and the quality of the models. I've posted a battle report at http://www.twilightemporium.net/battle-reports/ if anyone is interested.

Yeah, I'm thinking about getting the Gremlins but I don't know how the factions work.

I havn't heard of the game before this, but I just looked at the minis. I might have to track down the rules and see how it plays.

The gremlins are really cool models, however I don't think I'd recommend then as your first crew. They have some really powerful abilities that are balanced with randomness and hurting your own guys. Then again the models are really cool.

You can use the gremlins with any outcast force but you can only use gremlins with the gremlin master

Eh? The Gremlin master prevents you from taking non-Gremlin Outcasts. Is that right? What if you play with two masters?

There are 2 sizes of games
Scraps and Brawls.
Scraps are 1-45 soulstones
Brawls are 30 - 70 soulstones
Scraps allow for 1 master
brawls are allowed 2.
In Scraps, if So'mer Teeth Jones (the gremlin master) is your master you may only select Gremlin and Pig Minions to take in your crew.
In a Brawl, So'mer teeth can join another master of the outcasts which then allows all outcast minions to be selected in the construction of the crew.
In a Brawl, So'mer teeth can also join Zoraida (a Neverborn Master). In this case, Zoraida can recruit minions from the Neverborn faction and So'mer teeth can recruit from the gremlin and pig models in the Outcast faction.
Of note: Zoraida has the ENTHRALL ability which allows her to recruit ANY LIiving figure with a Will Power (WP) of 4 or less in her crew. So in a scrap on her own, she can recruit Gremlins and pigs too.
So if you like the gremlins but not the restriction of the master you could always pick up Zoraida box and a blister of gremlins and a war pig.
Hope this helps.
THE GAME IS A BLAST BTW.

Great Bat-rep. We're having a blast with Malifaux ourselves.
A friend noticed you might have made a slight mistake with companion:
"I think in the battle report they did companion wrong with the belles. I think they can string 1-1-1 but not 1-1-3."
Just FYI.

Thanks Russ. Guess I'm kind of a fan boy but it's pretty cool that the D6G dig my site.
I think I may have not been clear on how they activated. When Sybil activates she can companion any belle within 6". Which is kinda cool for Seamus and the Ortegas because you can do all your activations one after the other.

I am all over the Malifaux. I have been trolling their Forums (because there seems to be a glitch on my account). I am glad someone has posted here. I got my book and Pandora's crew last week from GMI in socal. I am hoping to get a game in before ORCCON so I can really understand the rules.
I think its a great game after reading throught he first 22 pages of the book. I loooooove the full color book at $35 you get more bang for your buck as compared to the GW books. The deck of cards are great but I was hoping for more varied pictures as the artwork is very inspiring. The models are amazing and with so much detail, I cant wait to paint them.
When ORCCON comes arround, I am planning to get Teddy to bulk up my crew and add on Perdita's Crew and maybe even Nicodem's crew. These guys are so affordable that I can get 3 crew's for the price of a GW Battle Box. So, staying true to my no-GW year, Malifuax is my new addiction.

Love the look, fluff, models and rules of this game.
I've got two boxes, 4 blisters, 2 decks and the rulebook sitting patiently on my desk.
When I find some time I will paint everything up and get recruiting!

I enjoyed my first game last week. The amount of detail on the model-cards is a little offputting at first, but I'm liking the cards-instead-of-dice mechanic.
I can't say its my favourite game, but its one that no-doubt our group will keep coming back to from time to time.
The models are wonderfully characterful, and when you only need half a dozen or less for a decent length game, it panders to my need for variety and I can see myself buying another couple of factions once I get back into a painting groove.

I can't speak for the rules as I don't have the rulebook (yet) but the models are awesome.
I've only painted two so far but they are so detailed and each one is full of character.

The best part of this thread is the fact that you used Vul'Kar from Fireball Island in that desert board. Pure win.

I, personally, love the game. Something about the combination of the setting, the minis, and the rules just enthralls me. My gaming group has a decent-sized player base, with more folks who have crews, but don't often play. It helps that one of the folks in my group was one of the major playtesters (several people I know are in the playtest list in the book, as it happens), so it's had a bit more time to go around.
Anyway, great game, great fun, I recommend it to everyone, check out my and Mister Feral's P&M blogs if you want to see some of the minis painted up. (/shameless plug)
