I loved every part of the new Space Hulk game apart from the exposed cardboard edges on the corridors/tiles/counters so I colored them using felt markers to match the rest of the printing. This improved the look considerably, especially the floor edges now that they are black.
I also used the waste material from the card to fashion some corridor ends so that when I lay out a floor plan there are no "jigsaw" ends. These are really simple to make: Take the outside bits from the card, attach a corridor section and trim the waste card to match the existing corridor width. Then trim off the 2 45 degree corners, use a black marker to finish the edges if you want.
I include a pic of the shape of the corridor caps. These look great on the layout and the marine entry point blends with them nicely.

I'm also going to use the spare square punch outs and paint on a flame symbol to indicate my flamer ammunition. as you only get the one ammo counter.
but neat idea, i've kept all my card bits with the intention of using em.

You do realize that the flame markers are the ammo counters as well, right?

Good idea. I'm going to do that.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Or just order loads more end pieces like I did.

Actually, my copy of 2nd Ed was unpunched when I bought it. The frames all the cardboard came on had artwork that went past the bits where you cut them out. I cut all those left-over bits away, and they now join up to the ends perfectly. The 3rd Ed boards sadly had no such ability.

well...the third edition boards have a little bit of the artwork (where the jigsaw cut is) and then black. if you are playing on a black cloth, using end caps makes it look like the corridor is trailing off into the darkness....spooky.

The bit stuck on the side of England. Wales isn't it.

Yes took me a while to work that one out too. "So how many shots do I get?.Six. How am I supposed to keep track of them then? So how many templates are there , er...six. ...Oh right I see" . They don't just make this stuff up, and throw it in a box without any thought do they.
