I'm playing a game with 1135 points versus 1800, due to a very successful raid on my territory last turn [during our campaign].

A tie is all I need, and it looks like it'll be planetstrike with me the defender. Me using chaos, him using SM. Any advice on how to get the tie or win?

I just played a game two people vs my marines and they had a 500 points lead over me and i won the game by distracting him with a ton of fancy units and holding my objective and killing his troops while his elites trashed me

You haven't posted what either list will look like, but your best bet would probably be not to space your army out and force him to fight one unit on one.

Yeah, it's looking like a single objective in the corner, with impassible terrain along the sides. I think he's only doing planetstrike to give me a fighting chance.

And the lists haven't been made yet. He usually runs either shrike or lysander, with a squad of terminators in a LRC, with some assault marines and some regular marines in rhinos, with a vindicator or two.

1) Declare he whole board except for where your models are impassable.
2) Roll unnecessary dice.
3) Profit.

A really usefull tactic Ive found when at a disadvantage is to eat alot of cabbage about 20 minutes before the game, hold in those nasty cabbage farts, and when it comes to game time let one rip on their side of the table, you might not be able to use the game room for a few minutes, try and bear the smell, giving yourself a few extra seconds to look over the board and see what you can do and where, or your buddys will be laughing so hard or distractd by it and make a few dumb moves.

ITS BIO WARFARE!

Well he seems to be at a advantage to a degree but you have home turf.

What phase of planet strike?

Honestly the hell with it dont go defensive.

How many Daemons do you have?

Marines are Meh in combat he is going to be meltaing your bastions etc.. if he plays vulcan.

Go with Assault its your best chance really ; you can most certainly out assault a Marine force with Chaos.

With him DSing and having to close in on the bastions regardless taking squads of Daemons that are

1. Cheap
2. Negate Thunderhammer
3. Lots of attacks

So yeah

Chaos Daemons lots of them like 30 to 40 to deal and tie up assault then some just hand to hand combat monster squads.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

i used a really similar tactic on accident at a magic tournament once. I raided any and all nearby ashtrays, filling my pockets with snipes, (im poor and ciggarettes are'nt cheap, dont judge me lol). Anyway this caused me to reek of ashtray. My opponent was so distracted by my "aroma" that he dropped in our second game for some air,(magic is usually played best 2 out of 3). A little underhanded, but very 'kunnin.
