Ok, so I remember hearing somewhere that the nut sacks can only be taken in a squad size of 1 now.
But I can’t find this anywhere. Dose anyone have a link?

Also, I was wondering what exactly happens when a nut sack lands on a unit... I know it explodes and creates d6 bio acid mines but.

Do the other little mines scatter and explode right away, or do they scatter and explode after the affects of the big blast from the sack...

Say the big one hits a unit and gets 5 wounds. Would a resolve those wounds right away then move on to the little guys, or do I see what happens with the little mines?

Come to think of it… I don’t think the little ones scatter. I think I just place one right where the sack was, then surround it with more.
(Title edited by mod, what are we twelve?)

Screw it. exactly how dose a nut sack works after it lands from deep strike? I’m to tired to think right now.

I believe he's referring to spore mines. Though his colloquial way of expressing that is far more entertaining and colorful ;-)

are you refering to meotic spore mines from Forge World?

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/114263.page

I've read a few things about them but I don't know the rules regarding them.

On to the next thought... which blast template do spore mines use?

yes yes yes.... the forge world spore mines.

i honestly thought thats what everyone called them.... Nut Sacks or Testical bombs.

the big spore mine uses a S5 AP3 large blast.. when it blows up it creats d6 Bio Acid spore mines (which use little blasts)

what i am woundering is... do i resolve the affects of all of the blasts at once, or do resolve the affects of the big spore mine THEN all the little ones

If your nut sack has that many lumps in it, then I think you may want to sit down with your doctor for a serious discussion.

But the more lumps my nut sacks have, the messier it is for my enemy when they explode in his face

Well, the IA4 FAQ on the forgeworld website addressed this issue (although the answer left a lot to be desired in terms of true clarity), but the problem is that since then the rules have been changed for Imperial Armor apocalypse.

So the answer is: If you're using the IA4 version (which allows 1-3 in a unit) then I'd follow the guidelines presented in the Forgeworld FAQ, that the Bio-Acid mines don't 'come down' (become active) until the next turn.

If you're using the IAA rules (which only allow 1 per unit) it appears to say the following:

The Meiotic Spore explodes. After that is resolved you then place the Bio-acid cluster where the Meiotic mine was. If placing the cluster still results in the cluster contacting an enemy model then those mines would then detonate as well.

You have of course made sure that the tourney allows for the use of IA/Forgeworld units?

sure did.

i aint cheesing out my list like crazy... but i need SOME stuff to be

plans right now are to runn 2 blasty warrior squads, a dakkafex, 2 uber gunfex's, 2 zoeys, 40 hormies, zoidberg stealers, a dakka tyrent (maybe even a dakka flyrent), the nut sacks, and leaping ripper swarms.

see... the ripper swarms give the gaunts a cover save, the gaunts give the warriors and zoeys cover saves, then the zoeys and warriors give the fex's a cover save (5e TLOS abuse FTW... hay, more then 50% of a fex is hiddin by the warriors =P)

the problem arises in that i have to fit all of it into 1850.

but this is a topic more in line for army lists.. expect to see one soon

Oh i love those, you can make super insane army lists ...
50pts for you can take the Dreadnought Drop pod (lucius pattern) it loses the storm bolter but hell your dread can assault on the turn it arrive just add 6 Iron clads. Also it wouldn't be cheese without some alies must take a DHs Inquisitor + retinue and 2 squads of storm troopers ... oh they can take dedicate transports ... ok i'll take a Valkyrie for each with the multiple rocket-pods and heavy bolters. ^_^

Rippers can't give anything cover saves. See the rules on swarms.

Yeah, I am. It says "intervening swarms never offer any cover save to monstrous creatures or vehicles."

"Monstrous creatures or vehicles" are most certainly not "anything" like you say...

Yeah, I've been thinking of dropping some dough on FW rippers due to thier added height.
