That is pretty similar. But it wouldn't be the first time people copy off GW.

Most NERF guns look like some kind of 40K weapon.

Well it does have similarities, but it's not 'lego', it's Best-Lock, or whatever that knock-off company is.

Top left looks like a fighter from BattleStar, while the 2 top right ones loo klike....the flying Batmobile...

My 7 Cents.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Misery. Missouri. Who can tell the difference.

Damn that is so very close to violating GW IP. Looks like a couple of Kilrathi fighters from the Wing Commander games.

It is actually the right scale too! I bought one (had store credit) and I plan to assemble it with super glue, and then somehow "coat it" with either green stuff or something to smooth it out so there are no bumbs. I'll convert some other points too, like window, and make it look as close to better as I can...Price was right, so it is worth a shot!

Here is another unlicsensed item (Halo look a like gun) I found over a year ago, and bought 30 of them at $10 each! I painted them (either odst green, red, blue, silver, etc...some of which I painted UNSC logo on front of both sides, and personalized with buyers online name & logo from xbox live....) and sold them on ebay. My first sold for $168.00! As others caught on by selling their versions for less and giving away the info on the item, my last sold for $67.00...I averaged $133.49 per rifle! Most went to international locations, but I am surprised Microsoft didn't come down on Toys-r-Us for this Halo look-a-like gun...

The patent on Lego ran out years ago, that's why Lego do so many special licensed kits now.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

The BSG lego rip off. Theres a Viper mk2, and chop the tails off of the other two craft and you've got yourself a couple of cylon raiders! The likeness to a thunderhawk for the larger one is uncanny. But its not the first time I have seen this type of thing done.

Yeah, I saw that.

It's a knockoff model using knockoff bricks.

Yer point?

I wonder how it scales to 40k models; imo using lego bricks (or in this case lego knock offs) is a great tool in converting and building your own models since they can help prop-up plasticard and the like.

If I owned SM's I'd be tempted to check out that kit since there's no way in hell I'd buy a Forgeworld equivalent.

^ what he said.

Lego (and clones) usually scale pretty well to 40k.

Reminds me of the time we all forgot to bring terrain when we played a game, and ended up building the terrain out of Legos. The battle and terrain were both pretty lousy. It was a perfect storm of suck.

I dont have too much of a problem with it as a stand alone toy, I can't realy see anyone using it as a viable thunderhawk substitute.

I am all for counts as models as long as they are in general keeping with the hobby. I would draw the line at lego thunderhawks. If you were to allow this then what else could people try to get away with......

Pink Power Ranger action figure, counts as Terminator Chaplain?

Tonka Toys Dump Truck, counts as Land Raider Redeemer?

Malibu Barbie doll, counts as Deamon prince of Slaanesh?

If one is going to resurface a $20 model in $15 worth of GS, it seems to me that it'd be cheaper just to buy $30 worth of plasticard and scratchbuild the thing - it's not like plans & patterns aren't free on the web.

I used to use my little brother's Legos as rubble for destroyed buildings back in 2nd ed.
I dunno if I could use a model made from them, though I am seriously considering that thunderhawk
for a campaign I'm running. It would just be a fly-by/drop off sort of thing, not actually in the battle.

and it would be BDSM Barbie for the Daemon of Slannesh

I think if you tried to bring that to an apoc battle youd get laughed at

However, it is cool looking anyway for a toy. Its amusing to hear about GW and IP infringements. Sorta like how WFB is in NO WAY middle earth? right?

Those are just some of the ones out there.

Hello thunderhawk under 50 dollars.

You mean looking thunderhawk for under $50, maybe. It's going to take a lot of kneadatite to cover up all those connectors, which then needs to be sanded so it's not lumpy, and is then going to need to have the hull details cut into it unless you're fine with the completely smooth, no hull detail look. Then figure how much effort that's going to take you to get to an acceptable end result...
