I'm of two minds about magic in Fantasy - go big, or go home. These two lists represent those extremes. I've tried both out against Teclis-led HE, with success (although both of us are rather rusty).
List 1:
About as much magic as I can squeeze in, while keeping a few useful units around.
Kairos Fateweaver
Keeper w/Allure, Torment Blade, Siren, Soul Hunger, Lvl 4 upgrade
Herald of Tzeentch w/Master of Sorcery, Spellbreaker, BSB w/Standard of Sundering
Blue Scribes
20 Horrors w/Full Command + Changeling, Icon of Sorcery
10 Horrors
11 Daemonettes
11 Daemonettes
6 Seekers w/FC & Siren Standard
4 Fiends
4 Flamers
4 Flamers
15 power dice + Scribes, 9 dispel dice
List 2:
About as little magic as I can have around, while keeping up a robust defense.
Bloodthirster w/Axe, Armor of Khorne, Immortal Fury, and Spellbreaker
Keeper w/Allure, Torment Blade, Siren, Soul Hunger
Herald of Slaanesh BSB w/Icon of Dispair, Siren, Torment Blade
Herald of Tzeentch on Chariot w/Spellbreaker
The Masque
19 Daemonettes w/FC, Banner of Ecstasy
10 Horrors
10 Horrors
10 Horrors
5 Furies
5 Seekers w/FC, Siren Standard
3 Fiends
3 Fiends
6 Flamers
8 casting dice, 7 dispel dice, 2 scrolls
Disclaimers: I only own 9 Flamers, and 35 Horrors. I don't own any Fleshhounds at all, sadly. I have huge numbers of Daemonettes, a bunch of Bloodletters, 8 Fiends, 8 Bloodcrushers, and a slew of Seekers, plus a total of 2 Keepers, 1 Thirster, and Kairos.
List 1, between Master of Sorcery and Kairos' pick-a-spell, can bring whatever magical tools to the table are required. The Keeper is there to Siren a Dragon or whatever out of the way; the Changeling dares any single uber-character to come visit the Horrors. Flamers are handy for many tasks, while Daemonettes keep my flanks relatively safe from fast cav/skirmishers. 4 Fiends is just enough to hit a unit of decent cav, or to try to assassinate exposed characters in infantry blocks.
List 2 has enough magic defense to survive turn 1, before charging with all manner of 20" Fear- and Terror-causers, many of whom are actually pretty adept in combat. Siren on the Herald in the big block of daemonettes is handy to suck in units that might not want to charge a ranked block of +6 CR. Some debate in my mind over leaving the Slaaneshi Herald as BSB, or giving it to the Tzeentch Herald (who is more mobile, but much more vulnerable).
Which looks more effective, from a metagame stand point? Any easy changes to make?
(I know Daemons are evil, and I'm a bad person for playing them; I know that I could bring random units and still win; you don't need to comment along those lines.)
