yeah, tahts pretty good.
But the Vehichle Design rules in Imperial Update 05 are unmatched. Okay, some of the rules are a little outdates, but easy to trade-in. They're great.

When you call an intimate moment with your partner "the Assault Phase"

Is that followed by a pile-in move?

That brings a whole new meaning to the term "Hit and Run"

Can that be following a deep strike, or do you have to wait until the next round?

I use vdr to get a "that looks about right" statline for the points, then increase or decrease points after testing it out.

Yes, you can make absolutely bastardised creations from it, but you don't HAVE to. The flaws are with the users, not the system.

What part didn't you understand?

I'll say it slower.

The VDR (with tau and necron add-ons) is a very flexible system for putting together apocalypse units (like custom tanks or titans that aren't covered in GWs game outside of epic or FW).

For some newer weapons (punisher cannon? Use the Leman Russ upgrade points). You might end up with something close to but over (points) to a similar model.

Then you test it out and refine it. Drop or increase its points if it is too weak/too strong.

The other comment refers to people who say that the 'system' is broken, because a superheavy immobile bunker with 100 bolters is too cheap.

Its intent was to give models you already had (like you made for the RT days) rules and stats that would work in 3rd ed. You made the profile fit the model.

Not 'use the system to create a violation of all that is good' and then model it. That's a user-error.

My World Eaters friend liked it back in the day. Used the Dual DCCW Dread presented as an example(as did my Dark Angels) as well as made some light Recon vehicles(Fast Tanks with armor 11/10/10 IIRC) armed with Heavy Flamers to support his troops.

Just remember folks. Panic. Panic all the time. It's the only way to survive, other than just being mindful, of course-but geez, that's so friggin' boring. - Aegis Grimm

I have to agree with Chromedog. Its always good the play test it, get what your oponents think and what you think and modify it accordingly.
