Really unclear what the purpose of the infantry platoon is. If you just want cheap bodies to make the vendettas scoring, you are better off with penal troopers; they get decent ld, stubborn and maybe a halfway decent cc ability for a budget price.

Your vets seem loaded for anything, which I feel is a waste. These guys are best off given one task and let free to do it. Keeps them cheap too. You could drop the ACs and demos, and upgrade the inq stormies for more vet squads.

Psyker squads, in my experience, should start at 9. Half the armies you face don't care about WR, and a S6 pie with AP D6 doesn't go as far as S9 pie does, especially if you need help breaking open transports early in the game. Also, starting small means that one perils roll will basically neuter the unit.

IST are no Troop choices, they are Elite. So your army uses 4 Elite FOCs and is illegal. Change at least one of the IST to Vets with 3x Melta und pack them into one or your Vendettas or just use one huge Psyker squad, in this case you can still play 2 units of IST.

Inquisitorial Stormtroopers are Troops choices from the WH or DH codices. Guard Stormtroopers are elites. So the list is legal.

Bear in mind, though, that Inq. Stormtroopers only have Hellguns (AP5) and cannot Deep Strike.

Daw, I wanted to yell at him. Lol.

-So, my major complaints with the list is that you have no real armor. For a 2000 point mech list, you sure do have a lack of 14 armor.
-Limited shot weapons, like Deathstrike, are not my favorite. The army has BS 3, there is a pretty good chance you are going to just miss anyway.
-Psykers should definately be at full strength or not at all.
-Take advantage of your platoon. I generally use Vets, but I always bring 1 platoon because it has a lot of advantages. First off, never underestimate the power of cannon fodder. Second and more importantly is: special weapons teams and heavy weapons teams. If you need special weapons like melta, you can get them cheap in your platoon. If you need heavy weapons options and don't want to tie a useful squad like Vets to one place in order to use their weapons buy them in a squad of 3 and hide them in the back, or in a building.
-Inquisitional Troopers are sort of useless in an IG army. However can be interesting if you upgrade them via the inquisitional armory. All you have on them right now is Melta, which Vets can do without paying the extra 30 points. If you start throwing around things like Auspex or other interesting items, I might understand their purpose in the army other than the pointsink.
-Too many melta for me. Bring more lascannon and autocannon. If your opponent brings anything but exclusively vehicles, you are hosed. And if you can't get to range with the melta, you are still hosed anyway. Range is a strength most armies can't take advantage of, use it.

My overall recommendation would be to either gear your Vets or IST to be long range defensive squads. Probably easier with the Vets; or use a heavy weapons team from your platoon to do the same job. The point is that most games you are going to play will require you to cap and hold points on the map. Thus you want to be able to have a squad that is able to sit on a point and fire from long range to still help assist the rest of your army. Vets with autocannon or lascannon, and forward sentries or genadiers are great for sitting back babysitting an objective. Bring in some heavier armor choices. Consider cheapening up some of your pointsinks. Fix the psykers and swap the deathstrike for something more reliable.

Can you just drop Inquisitional STs into a normal Guard force without an actual Inquisitor?

If so, neat.
