Well after months of hiding in the bushes I figured it was time to step up and actually show some of my own models instead of just commenting on everyone else's!

I'll admit, it was a lot harder to put my work on display than I thought it would be. This is mostly because I realized models look WAY better in person than they do on camera (mine do, I swear!) but also because it is definitely scary to have strangers see your models. You're naked out there, for Emperor's sake! Anyway, kudos to anyone who has the guts to do it, I certainly didn't for a good long time.

Right, well I started with the standard urban camo theme and expanded a little to imagine my army, the 85th Molovian Nachwachter (or Nightwatch... I think), as a heavily mechanized and technologically oriented Hive defense force in the Molov system. Nothing crazy, just a fair number of bionic eyes, limbs, snazzy tanks, etc. For some reason they like naming their tanks Latin (high gothic) but they tend to have Germanic origins for their local population (low gothic). I don't know, I just make it up as I go along

Commander and random Guardsmen (haven't decided what to do with the squad, perhaps meltas/plasma?)

Anton Platoon First Squad (using the German phonetic alphabet from WWII seemed unique) and Sergeant

Anton Platoon Second Squad and Sergeant

Bruno Platoon SpecOps Squad 'Gunther's Spoilers' (These guys are based on the Gaunt's Ghosts Novel Necropolis wherein an industrial spoil area is defended from a chaos attack. They count as Harker's Catachan Devils. Naturally the autocannon team's names are Siegfried and Roy)

Sergeant Gruber and 'Die Fledermause' (I painted these guys long before I knew Stormtroopers were somewhat overpriced and underuseful. Still, I love the models so I may eventually make them a veteran team of some sort.)

My first two Imperial Guard vehicles hold a special place in my heart. The 'Cadia' transfers will be eventually painted over/scraped off. Molovia ftw!

Leman Russ Main Battle Tank 'Xenos Conterandus' (okay technically it should be 'Xenos Conterandus Est' but that just sounds dumb!)

Old-style Hellhound 'Ignis Belli' (with the long i - it's not 'Fire Kisses' although that would be cool...)

I'll post some more once I get back to painting more frequently. Hope you like them!
Oh and please feel free to C&C (I'll try and be strong...) improvement is what this hobby is all about. I currently use Vallejo paints and primer most things in armoury grey.

Thanks for looking!

Everywhere I'm not supposed to be.

I love the camo pattern on that Russ! What colors did you use? The guardsmen look pretty sharp in my opinion, I can only imagine if they really do look better in real life. Also kinda diggin the scheme on your stormtroopers...

If you need me, I'll be busy wiping the layers of dust off my dice.

I don't know what you're worried about, they look great!

As everyone else has already said, the urban camo on the tanks looks wonderful; a little too factory fresh and clean for me, but cool none the less

Just once again, kudos on the urban camo. Especially like the strom troopers, has got me thinking a little about mine...

Are you doing anything with your guardsmen's bases, apart from the black our gravel?

Those look pretty nice. Deffinetly really good table top for sure. It must be the camera, because sometimes it looks like the faces need a wash, and others it doesnt. I know the feeling with pictures. Alot of my painting detail goes away when I take pictures, like on my Warboss(thraka counts as) all the metal/rust/gold I did just kind of blend together and it looks like hes just rust lol.
Nice work man I dig it all

Firstly, thanks to all for the positive replies!

CrashUSAR: The camo scheme is pretty straightforward and could probably use a few more layers but is as follows:

Primer with "ColorPlace" flat grey
Patches of 2:1 Cold Grey (Codex Grey) and Black
Patches of Dead White (Skull white)

Biggest problem is I'm still working on getting the whites really crisp but I think it's getting there. I'm slowly developing the patience to do the umpteen layers necessary!

MeanGreenStompa: Thank you! Personally I don't think you'd have any trouble lootin' my poor guardsmen's fatigues after a battle. Let's just say they're not particularly well commanded right now... currently I'm at about a 10% win ratio. Yowch!

Endtransmission: You're right, they could do with a little dirtying up. I'm thinking about maybe trying my hand at some weathering soon but for right now let's just say they're fresh off the Troopship

JakeBakeACake: I've been trying out a few ideas for bases but I like the urban asphalt/tarmac feel that you get from just painting black on sand. I have a few bases sprinkled in where they have kerbs, potholes, and a yellow lane divider but so far I've been keeping it simple. I kinda like how the rust turned out on the Spoiler guys so I might incorporate that at some point too.

My turrets came from Old Crow today so I'll be able to start putting together some Chimeras! Can't have meltavets without Chimeras, right?

Looks good, I especially like the camo on the fatigues.
I think 'Nightwatcher' translates as Nachtwächer, with a 't' and an umlaut. For 'Nightwatch' I think it would be just Nachtwäche, though I'm less sure of that.
