Well the title says it all... but ill ask it again.

So im going to my gw today with a friend and i like the fluff and stuff of chaos
so i will plan to buy it... any reason not to?

If you are buying it for background, you're better off getting the 3.5 codex off ebay.

Why is that?

I would say go for it , i havnt seen any rumors of upcomming chaos codex yet.

Since your new I take it to the Chaos side of things.. its likely you will have no problem with the chaos codex. Definately buy it, use the rules too.

Agreed, but don't think that you are getting some half hearted codex. I hadn't played chaos for 6 years or so and just picked up some new models and the codex and have no real problems.
I can see the gripes that people who played chaos during that changeover period would have, but other than that it's a solid codex. Enjoy!

I started WH 40k this summer, and i started with chaos. Now i have almost 2k points of them, and i absolutely love them! I say go for it, it's an awesome codex imho!

It'll be good for a few years I'd say. GW isn't set to restore Chaos to its former glory for a while yet...
