So I can't find my rulebook, but this should be an easy question to answer. Does a rending hit add an extra d6 armor penetration to vehichles, or an extra d3?

So find it. Asking for rules wholesale is frowned upon.

To not be nice, if you frown upon it..... oh.... I don't know.... don't post , especially after the question has already been answered. Goodbye, have a nice day.

How is one supposed to learn that the asking of rules wholesale is frowned upon if he or she is not frowned upon when asking for rules wholesale?

So why did you choose to give a snarky response to the person who actually gave you useful information (both that this is the kind of question that you probably should avoid asking, and also the page number for the answer so you can show your friends later when they don't accept "some guy on Dakka told me" as good enough evidence) and not the person who essentially told you to frag off (i.e. Gwar - although funnily enough I actually agree with him for once)?

Why do people insist on biting the hand that feeds them when there are so many better things to bite? Like kittens. Or Jaffa Cakes.

A related question: does anyone actually use D3 dice? I know there is a weird spindly thing that is a legitimate d3 (and there are some that are just 1,1,2,2,3,3 on a six sided die) but do most people just stick with a regular d6 and do the whole 1-2 = 1 thing? Just curious I suppose. Any other inventive ideas?

Being a major D&D nerd, I have a D3 Barrel dice and an Old School D10 (a D20 that's 0-9 twice) along with loads of D4's, D8's, a couple of D12's and some D%.

However, I have never actually used the Barrel D3, I just use a D6 and half the result, rounding to the nearest whole. It's the simplest way IMO.

1/2=0.5 => 1
2/2=1 => 1
3/2=1.5 => 2
4/2=2 => 2
5/2=2.5 => 3
6/2=3 => 3

Dodecahedrons are #1.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

I have a bunch of 6-sided dice that have the numbers 1-3 on two faces each.

I'm with the 1&2 = 1, 3&4 =2. 5&6=3 thing.
You can't acctually make a 3D object with three equal flat sides...

When you call an intimate moment with your partner "the Assault Phase"

Is that followed by a pile-in move?

That brings a whole new meaning to the term "Hit and Run"

Can that be following a deep strike, or do you have to wait until the next round?

No, but you can make 3 sided "barrel" dice.

In fact, you can't make a 10 sided dice either. The "perfect" dice can only come in 4, 6, 8, 12, and 20 sides

You can make a 10 sided dice in that it's a dice with only 10 sides, all of which are equal.

What crazy dimension are you in? You can make 10 sided dice, but they are by no means "regular" polyhedra. There are 5 perfectly regular polyhedra, and they are the Platonic Solids

By sides, i mean faces (but we both realize that). I was clarifying your post which could be taken to suggest that you can't have a 10 sided dice, period. They have kite shaped faces, but don't have to resort to a barrel type of shape to get 10 sides.

Ah yes. Apologies for the misunderstanding. I was, as you quite rightly deduced, stating that you cannot create a 10 sided regular Polyhedron. The common "d10" or "d%" as it is known are actually Pentagonal Trapezohedrons, invented in the 1970's and popularised by the announcing of their "invention" at the 1980 Gen Con

Ya, I remember that. You were the guy nearby shouting "It's impossible!" until you realized what they meant by equal sides. Good times.

I prefer to refer to them as 'god knows what shape' though.

"Madness? This is GWARTAAAAAAAAA!"

So, um... what was this thread about again?
