The Wargear of the Grey Hunters includes the following:
- Close Combat Weapon
- Bolt Pistol
- Bolter

Note that it does NOT say "a model may replace its bolter with a bolt pistol and close combat weapon for free" but that it comes equipped as "standard."
Since the Grey Hunter is equipped with all three, does that mean that they always get +1 attack in close combat because they are equipped with a pistol and close combat weapon?
My first thought is "yes" but just wanted to throw it out there. I guess this was the replacement for True Grit.

Welcome to the 21st Century codex design and the amazing technology called holsters which allow models to carry more weapons than they have hands.

The welcoming committee would like to remind players who are new to this amazing technology that they'll have to get used to choosing between firing bolters and bolt pistols each turn, and that while the bonus for having two close combat weapons may be unsettling at first, it is okay.

Yes, it's the same as Chaos marines.

Woo hoo.

Don't forget that the GH with Meltaguns (like you'll take anything else with Meltaguns being 2.5 points each now) lose their Bolter (booo) but keep their BP and CCW (yay) so get the bonus attack as well

Hehe, I read that my meltagunners would be getting that extra attack in close combat, and I smiled. It's good to be the Wolves.

I love how Grey Hunters are the same points/stats/eqiup as a CSM but have Counter Attack, Acute Sense, ATSKNF.

Yeah, but can't be 20 Strong, can't take an icon, can't take a heavy, are only ld8 (instead of CSM base of 9), or ld9 (Instead of CSM Champion of 10) if they forfeit their second special for a Drop Pod, or ld9 with 2 specials but no transport. It all balances out.

I have never seen a (serious) list containing a squad of CSM over 10 men anyways. You also need to have 10 to even get a heavy weapon and then its usefulness is wasted on the 9 other dorks standing around with their thumb up their ass (unless they're on an objective, but even then it's not the greatest). Icons are stupid. I don't like how if the geezer with the Icon dies, the unit suddenly stops worshipping the God of their choosing and loses the bonus.

In any case, that's a different thread altogether...

Khornate gun line works quite well: 3 attacks each when you charge them is pretty good, and they dish out 4 each on the charge when you decide you've had enough fun shooting the enemy to death.

That reminds me of another question on these rules. If one of those meltagun grey hunters shoots their meltagun and then charges in the assault phase, do they get a bonus for having BP and CCW or no?

I would say that they get the bonus attack for the bolt pistol/close combat weapon. To meet the requirements necessary for the bonus attack, they only need to possess the proper equipment.

This is the truth.

Of course they do silly!
