Hi

I'm thinking aboot starting a rebel grot force and coverting stuff like night gobbos for kommandoes ect. I've looked at the Gnobblars in the ogre range and they look cheaper and their are lots of cool parts that arnt in the 40k Grot box.

Anyway, how different do goblins look to Gnoblars painted green?

Thanks

(Please don't try to stop me playing grots because they're rubbish as it's not a competitive force but a modeling and convertion one. I may post a blog eventually)

They do look different, and are noticeably smaller. That said, in a green horde army, with consistent paint schemes they'll go together pretty well.

Yeah, mixed in amongst a pile of goblins to represent the smaller grots, they'd be ok, but a whole grot army of gnoblars would look rather weedy.

I cant answer your question but i think a grot army would look sick. As you said its no competitive so who cares, it'll look sweet as.

I love grots/gretchins...

I use gnoblars as grot, with suitable conversions. They do look proper weedy, which I like. You do have to convert a few of them to make sure they don't have any too fantasy bits (knight helms, shields etc). They also have the bonus of there being lots of variety.

If the gnoblars are noticably smaller than the grots, just use them as snotlings. slightly lighter color, and mostly running around carrying stuff.

The gnoblars are wonderful models; I'd highly recommend them, even though they do look a little odd. If you have a third type of "grot" model, such as some fantasy goblins, it lessens the impact of having some of your grots look strange.

However, I should warn you that while their stock poses are wonderful, they're not very poseable, and are all just the head and body. (Also, their thin arms can snap if you're not careful with them.)

Viva la Revolution!

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

Ok

Background...  Head Gobbo steals Warbosses best battlewagon with other Gretchin and drives of into the 'cursed' mountains (which the orks are scared of). They meet a tribe of a feral race of greenskins. (Gnoblar like things.) They group together to make an army blah blah blah I'll write more when I (eventually) start a blog.

Models... I'm gonna have 3 units of 30 gretchin. Approx  2 Gnoblars to each Grot.
Specialist units will be ten tankbustas and 4 nobs (who have drunk a mixture, of squig, mushrooms, beer and magic to make them strong and better fighters).
Warboss and Old Zogwart-count-as will be HQ
Kanz for Heavy support and truck to transport Da Boss and his Retinue of Nobz

Everything come to 1000 points. Not bad for 115 troops, 3 cans and a truck.

I think that's it, it might work in games but that's not the main objective.

Check back in a few weeks (maybe months) for a blog.
