Subject: Should I spray prime detailed models?

I use "Army Painter" spray primer and have noticed when I use it on plastic models, I get sort of a grainy texture on my models. I have never used spray primer before, and I am wondering if I use it on a detailed, metal model if it would affect in at all, like messing with the small details of it.
Thanks

I have noticed this as well, but it hasn't really affected my more detailed metal models. My only issue is it chips, so after you prime metal figures its best if you put down your base color for the fig; paint chips much less easily than spray paint.

Here are a variety of priming tips that might help if you've never used spray before.

What kind of primer are you using? If you are using auto body primer i noticed the same thing so i switched to Quick Color that is sold at home depot for 97 cents just be sure to get matte. This primer goes on exactly like GWs. Automatically Appended Next Post: Sorry NM me asking what you use. Automatically Appended Next Post: What kind of primer are you using?
