So I'm relatively new to the hobby (only been playing almost 4 months). Before 40k I really never got into painting, modeling, etc. As a matter of fact all I did before 40k was play wow and magic the gathering! However after breaking free of both those hobbies I found myself increasingly bored and needed something to do... which is where 40k came in.

Anyways, in my newbism at painting I have slowly gained in skill to the point I can do some ok things with a bit o' paint and a brush. After obtaining a model of The Great Unclean One from an Ebay auction I won some time ago I got a great idea; why not paint him like Pizza the Hutt? I told a few friends and those who weren't losers (aka knew what I was talking about) thought it was an epic idea. For those who don't know, behold!



So without further ado, my Pizza the Hutt paint job!






All my friends thought it was quite hilarious, and now in almost every game my foes ask me to bring along the hutt for some cheesy deliciousness to our games. For those of you who are wondering how I painted it:

I started with Chaos Black spraypaint
Using highly concentrated (no watered down) scab red I based the whole model (excluding base)
Next I mixed 2:1 Red Gore and Blazing Orange which created a pizza sauce looking orange/red
I used highly watered down blazing orange to wash over the model
Next I mixed blazing orange and golden yellow 1:1 to give me a sort of "cheddar" color. I drybrushed this on heavily, making sure to allow some of the red to show through
I then dry brushed Golden Yellow over the entire model, giving it its "melted cheese" look
For his teeth/spine I brushed it over lightly with bleached bone. The sword I painted using boltgun metal, and then drybrushed shining gold around the blades edge giving it a sort of rusted look, or maybe chipped paint. The sword handle was painted using tinbitz, with chaos black for the skills horns and bleached bone for the skill. The chains were painted boltgun metal, and skulls bleached bone. I then painted the nurgle symbol on his blade using camo green, highlighting to give the "gem effect" using goblin green. I then washed the entire model liberally with mud devlan to give it a used look, while bringing out the details. Finally I brushed on red dots to act like pepperoni.

And there you have it! not THAT impressive to most, but I was quite happy with the results it gets a laugh from new foes, and pizza the hut is slowly adding to his kill counter with every game

hehe like I said above, not a conversion, but a painted model like em Most people understand when they see em in action! I actually did leave a cheese trail on his base , but it looked bland to me so I did a simple grass.bush coverup :(

I actually thought of that idea LOL but scrapped it after some thought :( I'm in the process of painting my CSM army (110 marines, tons of vehicles) and didn't wanna invest THAT much time into em.

He's a bit too...yellowish/Orange.

I'd add more white, to match Pizza's cheese color.

P.S. I loved that in Space Balls.

problem is due to my crappy camera (it looks far more yellow than it really does) it doesn't show him in his full cheese filled glory. His colors are much more subdued and hes more orange/red than yellow, with the yellow showing just enough to give the pizza impression. When my roomie gets home I'll see if hes gotta digi cam and take new pics

He really does look better in person. The pictures do not give him nearly as much justice as he deserves.

I agree, it deffinetly needs some pepperonis on there somewhere. Plasticard, GS WHATEVEA.....wheres my money.... GOD sorry its the movie. Anywho Because you cant just have lonestar and his sidekick...PUKE........... CRAP. Seriously it wont happen again.
It would be an easy conversion, and its not like your always risking you neck for some run away princess...... I hate myself. But also man your not just doing it for the money..... your doing it FOR A gak LOAD of money!

You should write a story about how he ate himself to death.
