I was looking at the Dreadnoughts in the Space Marine army and wondering how such a small model can possibly have such good statistics! So, naturally, I decided to make a slightly bigger one...
The pictures below are of the prototype I've made using cardboard from LESS than 2 cereal boxes and lots (and lots and LOTS!) of masking tape. I'm hoping to have the real thing built out of plasticard by the end of the month! I will, of course, add modelling putty on it for the proper details.
Please tell me what you think!

(Btw, in the descriptions below, SID means Super Ironclad Dreadnought and DCCW means Dreadnought Close Combat Weapon)

Those hammers can not even reach the ground.....

Not to mention that they have no articulation.

Lol thats more like a Titan than a Dread .

It looks a little wonky though - and just out of interest, how are you going to get perfectly smooth surfaces to make it look like actual armour? If I were you I would have used plasticard rather than cardboard and masking tape - its a much more versatile material that lends itself more readily to large scratchbuilds and allows you to give lots of detailing.

Clthomps - I was imagining the hammers extend (because in the pics one is short and one is long) so that they can be small and carry-able and then, when the time is right, extend far enough to squash his foes! lol

get to the chopper! - The pics are just of the prototype. I'm making the real thing out of plasticard + modelling putty by the end of the month (hopefully!).

Thanks!

If the hammers extend, then when the shafts are reacted they need to pop out the back of the shoulder mounting.
I'm imagining a pile driver type of design.
Otherwise they would be telescoping shafts, which wouldn't be very structurally sound.

Great Start. The hammer looks like the handle is too long though. And The head doesn't look "Killy" enough.

QFT. Although I was immediately thinking the same concept as you, I was thinking about Ultra Magnus' arms.

Cheers!
I'm gonna add modelling putty to hopefully make it look more 'killy'! Also, I was thinking that the extendible section of the arms get smaller as they go along, so that they sorta fold inside each other.
