The land of cotton.

Vendetta. You lack long range Anti-Tank right now and the Vendetta will fill the bill nicely. Your Leman Russ and Missile Launchers supply enough template death for dealing with hordes.

I agree with the Green Git, you need more anti-tank firepower.

Thirded. The Vendetta really makes good use of the Scout ability to come in off the flanks. 3x TL lascannon are pretty tasty already, but in the side armour? Awesome

Hitting infantry from the flank doesn't give you that kind of benefit.

Magnitize the weapons, perhaps?

Absolutely!

The bit stuck on the side of England. Wales isn't it.

I made my weapons interchangable. Its only played a few planetstrike and one apoc game. Its been in vendetta mode for all of them , and done pretty well too . I can't see ant reason to change it either. It's just a great tank killer , 3xTL lascannon! win,win and win!

I would definitely recommend the vendetta. So far is has never disappointed me.

Last night, for example, I was playing a 750point-a-force Doubles game and my vendetta managed to destroy a land raider on the first turn.

In the game the week before, first turn it cause 2/4 wounds on a nurgle demon prince. It was then destroyed second turn, my plasma veterans on board managed to escape with mediocre losses. They managed to destroy a rhino, then marbo annihilated the Chaos marine squad that was inside.

The game before that, it was 1000 points a side. The chaos player I was playing against had 2 rhinos. Dead rhino, first turn.

All in all, Guard have plenty of weapons to deal with infantry and heavy infantry. I find them lacking in things that are designed to blat tanks at long range. 3 twin linked lascannons do that fine.

Is that 3 Twin-linked Lascannons, as in the model has 6 Lascannons that are Twinlinked in pairs, or 3 Lascannons that are all Twin-linked together? That's a big difference. 3 X Twin-linked Lascannon shots, or 1 x Twin-linked Lascannon shot.

Thanks.

I can still remember when a box of 30 Space Marines was $30.00. Now THAT'S old school! In fact, I started playing in the Rogue Trader days...yes, I am that old. Played Warhammer Fantasy for years before Rogue Trader even came out...

in normal 40k, i'd go with the valk. the ability to move 12" and fire two 5" pie plates and a multilaser = win. in apoc, you need all the anti-tank you can get so i'd go with the vendetta there.

Not entirely sure what you are asking, but the Vendetta has 3, twin-linked lascannons that can fire in the following manner:

6" or less = three, re-rollable Lascannon shots.
Up to 12" = a single, re-rollable Lascannon shot.
More than 12" (i.e. 'Flat out') = cannot fire.

I am building my army list with 3 Valkyries, 2 are vendettas and one has rocket pods.

If you were willing to mix it up you could do something similar.

Thanks DogOfWar. I don't have the Codex yet, and wanted to make sure I understood the unit. What I was trying to ask was:

1. You can have a Twin-linked weapon where the model has more than one weapon that all fire together. They still only count as a single weapon, but you can reroll a miss.

2. You can have multiple Twin-linked weapons that function as above, but count as more that one weapon. For example, the Twin-linked Lascannons on a Land Raider. That would be 2 Lascannon shots that can reroll any miss result.

I just wanted to make sure that a Vendetta has 3 Twin-linked Lascannon shots versus 3 Lascannons that fire as a single Twin-linked Lascannon.

Now I know...

yeah, they're separate weapons that just happen to be twin linked (three individual TL-lascannons, not a twin linked heavy 3 lascannon). i think in regular 40k only the land raider crusader does that kind of stuff and it's only with a lowly bolter.

Ah gotcha.

Warboss is correct, they are separate weapons. This means you'd be able to take 3 'Weapon Destroyed' results before you'd be out of Lascannons.
