Hey all, I just finally got Brutal legend to finish updating my PS3 and got to have a good go at it (played for about an hour and a half). All i gotta say is... this games epic!

I'll put the game into its simplist terms; Take Fable and combine it with a Fallout 3 sort of open world. Mix that in with vikings, all the metal you can muster, hilarious jack black antics, hot rods, and beer, and top it off with RPG goodness, lots of blood, and swearing and you have Brutal Legend!

A must buy for metalheads or rpgers

downloaded the demo - looked fun, but was wondering if the gameplay gets boring after awhile (seems like a button masher...)? How does the full game play?

You get more abilities and allies, plus an army that helps you out. so its varied, and theres a lot of mission types!

So, I want to add my thoughts as well.
At this point I'm about 3/4 into the campaign (I think) and I really like it.
The world is fantastic to look at, the design ist awesome and the writing is brilliant. When you learn the history of the world and the creatures inhabeting it ... you have to see it for yourself.

However, the demo is not at all an acurate depiction of the game. What looks like a fun combination of driving and combat sections is actually just to cover up the RTS missions. You build a stage, need to get your hands on the resources and then build units and fight another army. This is also what the Multiplayer is based around.
I have to say, the RTS part doesn't exactly blow me away and the game is a little bit rough around some edges but it's definetly worth playing.

I would have preferred more of a hack & slash adventure game without the RTS stuff, but its still really fun. Any metal fan needs to play this game. I doubt I'd ever do the online multiplayer but the campaign part is a lot of fun. I'm up to the part where you get to kill all the whiney goth kids. lotsa fun

Funny thing: I wasn't really into metal before I played the game but I kinda am now. I'm at the last mission now.

Just finished it. After you're done you can still roam the world and get an item which helps you find the remaining secrets.
That game was very, very cool. Maybe a tad rough around the edges but a great game none the less.

facemelter ftw!

I'm not a big fan of RTS but I felt there was a great balance of different things to do. I do wish the races would have been more of a challenge, but this game still exceeded my hopes.

now I want a sequel to Psychonauts and Brutal Legend, but I'm not sure which I want first...

Don't forget: You can upgrade some of your units once you upgraded your stage. Make sure to have a party standing ready to defend your third merch booth, whichever you choose. If you see one of the riders coming, mae quick work of him with the facemelter, otherwise he'll cut down your infantry. Send on large party through one of the pathways to occupy the enemy and sneak around the other path with 2 roadie units and victory is yours.

The question is, is there a good way to sequel this game?
My favourite thing about the whole game are the Metal Legend. "The firebeast Ormagöadan, cremator of the skies!"

Was a great game overall, as you said amun, a bit rough around the edges. I couldn't really see a sequel based on this game, unless maybe something to do with the disappearance of eddys father....? Tim Schaffer already said its unlikely there will be a sequel, but none the less, I'm excited for his next project. Psychonaughts and Brutal legend were both great games, labors of love, and you could tell the dedication put into em. I love devs that put a ton of work into the little niches of their games

i hope there is enough money dropped into it to warrent a sequal. beside it is always possible to make a sequal no matter the story.

if he feels i could make money off it i would mostlikely make it. since psychonauts wasnt that big even though from what i hear about it being a great games he probaly felt he couldnt make money off it.

Ok i just beat it. Thnx for the help anung i fought for 2 hours before and got no where but your idea help.
they certainly left room for a sequal. i mean you still see drowing doom and tainted coil everywhere. and just killing the emporer might not have really done anything. i new one might just step up. and i still think ophelia is kinda evil left in here. all that time in the see must have done something to her. besides i hope they really do it was a great idea and so much to expand on.

I like Yatzhee, though I don't always agree with him. I enjoyed the strategy moments and look forward to trying out the multiplayer.

That guy talks way too fast for me to have any idea what he's talking about aside from the fact that he didn't like the game.
