Hello everyone.
I was thinking on including a chaos dred in my growing Iron Warriors army, but wich options are best?
You know chaos dreds are crazy (they can shoot to your own soldiers) so you must choose your long-range weapons carefully, because if you put on it a very powerful weapon, it can kill its mates, but it can be also good against da enemy.
So, what weapons? I was thinking on a close-combat weapon and a missile launcher: it's powerful because it can launch specific missile types against specific enemies, and fragmentation ones can be useful when it shoots its mates (they aren't so strong against CSM with servoarmours).
What do you think about this? Thank you very much!

I always stick on Multi-Melta and have a squad of Thousand Sons running escort duty between the Dread and anything it could kill.
However, most people seem to prefer going for dual close combat weapons and sending it to rip the crap out the enemy at close range. I run one of these as well and it is nasty, especially back up by a Daemon Prince. There isn't much the two charging that won't become a greasy smear on the floor.

2x Dread Close Combat Weapons and run two dreads. Every turn that they don't fire frenzy, have them move 6" and RUN towards the nearest enemy until they can charge. Rinse and repeat. Way more fun than 200 points should be. Add extra armor and heavy flamers for extra zanyness.

I like the Plasma Cannon.
I do sometimes run a Lascannon dreadnaught but he sits and fires at the enemy.
Multi Melta's are fun too.

I agree with white dragon you should use 2 close combat weapons but don't use the actual model because it looks awful and is metal make your own.If you are using 2 close combat weapons then buy the ironclad powerfist right arm and put it with the normal space marine dreadnought as its got a left arm powerfist. Then use green stuff and spare pieces to make it chaos.

I would either say two CCWs or plasma and stick it close to a LR. Just ran two CCWs dread yesterday and ran it with a defiler and watched them wreak havoc. Both made their points back within three turns.

I am adding a Dreadnought to my CSM list and am going with the 2x DCCW option. Not that I have any great insight, but my plan is to use it as a decoy. Send him up the middle to buy a turn or two with the rest of my troops. Granted, a IG gun line of Las Cannon's I will change up my approach.
