Okay, So I plan to make the two things stated in the title. The guitar will be a fully functioning wrecka ball for a stompa, while the skaven wheel will be a zapp gun battery with the wheel on one base, and the grots on the other two. What I need is advice/tips on how to make the above two possible - indeed probable.

Do you mean that the stompa will be playing a guitar? And do you mean a zzap gun for the orks to use out of a looted skaven wheel?

Yes and yes. Guitar rules wise will count as a wrecking ball and skaven wheel will be converted enough to be three big guns as a diorama across three bases.

Id suggest get some plasticard and get to work. Make some guitar templates out of cardstock for templates. Just because the size of a stompa, would be tough to find a good size guitar for it. Infact somewhere is a picture of a stompa rocking out with a guitar... Ill post it as soon as I find it

Nice pic find, Cracker.

Ferrett, If the guitar is to be used in combat as a giant axe (as in the picture) and its 'musical' abilities have no game effect, then something like the pic will look great (keeping in mind the stompa will need two arms to 'play' it, but a three-armed stompa would be cool), but then I think such a 'guitar' better represents an ordinary giant close combat weapon. Alternatively, I can see a guitar-shaped ray gun counting as something like a lifta droppa. I'm just not personally so keen on it counting as a wrecka ball, I'd prefer a wrecka ball to be something that has to be swung around wildly on the end of a huge chain.

Well just started the skaven wheel now I have some time off and let me tell you that that model is very fun to construct. Taking the bug eyed grot head and sliding that into the head position makes the inside look hilarious, but I'm not gonna post pictures until I start doing properly original things to it. Covering runes and headswaps are not quite that original.

Okay, back with some pics.

Time to play - What needs fixing? To my eye, even when you put the ork and the squig on the wheel its just a looted doomwheel. Before you tell me what though, slapping random card on it is not the solution.

yeah, I think you need to change some bits if you want a more orky look and a less 'looted Doomwheel' look. Immediate thoughts:
- swap the back trailer wheel thingy for orky wheels/tracks - or just remove it entirely for a 'giant Segway' look?
- get some spare zapp gun barrels from the BW kit and put them on the front instead of the Doomwheel shooty thingies
- personally I'd swap the huge 'wooden tyre' around the rim for a more high-tech one from texture plasticard (like the spiky treads on the ork trukk/BW wheels) but that may be too much work.

Get rid of the ornate stuff on the right. It's just not orky. At the least, replace the cables with orky ones.

You can still buy them off GW direct, I plan on making a mob of them at some point.

Ornate means really decorative. Looks a bit too fancy, but I like it it seems Orky enough to me.

It's those cables. They cross so elegantly, like a chandelier. They just seem lacking in orkyness.

Looking good, I'd put some orky glyphs on there, also putting some spikes on the rim or outside of the wheel would make it look orky. You could also try making an ork skull to go on the front and have the two prongy things sticking out of it's eyes, you could try making it look more ramshackled, it looks very organised now.

More rivets could help and putting two, larger wheels on the back instead of one could make it look more like a mega souped up trike/wheel machine.... Also some orky guns and exhausts would help massively.
