So I bought one of these and it's rather good.
12 inches long and just the right scale for a large flier or skimmer.
It looks closer to Tau than anything else, because it's fairly curved and has detailed surface panels. I am going to change the engines for Devilfish engines to help the similarity along.
The guns and landing gear are a bit crappy so they will be removed and I'll scratchbuild something better. Add a few Tau bits like burst cannons and Bob's your uncle!
It could be made into an Imperial vehicle by boxing up some of the plating with plasticard and rivets. The engines already look pretty Imperial.
It would also make a good large dropship for 15m SF, or small dropship for 28mm.

I picked one up and, after a wash of brown-orange rust, it's a perfect flyer for my Therian Army for AT-43.
Oh, I even glued the terminator face on the front and painted it white to mimic typical Therian mechs.

That is freaking awesome. Go you! Now they just need a set of flyer rules.

I think they retail for around $20-25 USD and can be found at Target, Walmart, Toys R' Us and the equivalent(sorry, not too familiar with any out of US stores). However, I have seen them at Ross, TJ Maxx, and other discount retailers(again unfamiliar with outside of US equivalents, they're basically stores that buy overstocks and last season's fashions and sell them for cheaper) for $11-13 USD.

The Lascannon piece from the bastion fits nicely where the fireable rockets sit each side of the craft, and I'm adding two pairs of predator L/cann to the sides of the engine pods to make a Vendetta. It's a great piece that doesn't need much heavy work to 40k up

I bought three of them. One came from Amazon.co.uk and the other two as a package deal from a toy shop in Northern Ireland via eBay. Two models for about £25 inc postage. Not bad when you see that the model is useable almost straight out of the box. Just look at Captain Jack's picture.
The secret of buying this kind of model is to wait until the film has gone buy and the shops sell them cheap to get rid of excess stock. That's why I will be looking for the Avatar helicopter model in six months.
Tonight I disassembled the first one. You need a small cross-cut screwdriver, and snips or something to cut off the small rearward laser cannons.
You get a body shell in two halves, the big swallowtail shaped rear stabilizer, the two smaller slanted rear stabilizers, the two engines, and some internal bits and bobs.
The shell will glue back together again with either plastic cement or epoxy so don't worry about losing the screws.
Given a bit of skill with knife, putty, plasticard and 'bitz', there are plenty possibilities for modification, limited mainly by how much effort you want to put into it. The model is pretty nice as it stands.
1. Remove the the swallowtail, reducing the overall length by 3+1/2 inches.
2. Swap the small tail stabilizers so they slant up instead of down. Makes it look a bit perkier and aggressive.
3. Modify or replace the undercarriage, or just leave it off and have a couple of bomb bays.
4. Swap the weapons for something else, like shown above, and/or add new weapons.
I'm planning to convert the first one to a Tau heavy skimmer so I'm bidding for a couple of cheap Devilfish on eBay to get engines and burst cannons, etc with the aim of putting double Tau engines on each side.
The swallowtail will become a pair of large antennas on a Tau communications centre.
I've already got some nice missile and particle beam bitz out of a Gundam kit, so I'm thinking a heavy Ion cannon on top, two or three burst cannons and a pair of SMS systems will look about right for the size of the machine.
I will repurpose the original engines as exhausts on a fusion generator.
I'll keep one other model basically unaltered as a 15mm/28mm drop ship, and put the third in store until I get a good idea for it.
You should be able to find the tracked Terminator vehicle from the same kind of places as the flying vehicle.

@ KillKrazy
I can't wait to see what you cook up! Scale wise though, is this more in line with a one to two man fighter vehicle, kinda like a Vyper from Battlestar Galatica type affair, or could this pass as a Troop transport? I'd be interested in using one for a dedicated Cadian or Elysian Drop ship!

Given that all GW vehicles are too small to contain the troops that can be put inside them, this will work fine.
It's larger than a Devilfish, which has two crew and 12 internal passengers. There's even a hinging down ramp below the nose. You'll need to change the undercarriage to make it work properly.
Take a look at Captain Jack's Air Cav thread for some more pics of the model.
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/263363.page Automatically Appended Next Post: Dimensions of this model.
Length from nose to root of the swallowtail = 8 inches.
Swallowtail = 4 inches long.
Width across the engine pod mounts = 4+1/8 inches
Width across nose = 2+1/8 inches.
Width at root of tail = 1+5/8 inches.
Depth = 2 inches (measured at the engine pod mountings,) 1+3/8 inches at the nose
Engine pods are 1+3/8 inches wide/deep and 2+3/8 inches long.
