Hi everyone.

I was looking at purchasing some lesser daemons for my worldeaters. Because GW took away our tasty bloodletter rules I'm not keen on using those models. If I was made of money I would use the FW militia with skull faces and whips. I was thinking skeletons but they are a bit generic. I then thought chaos hounds (which look awesome) but might look a bit odd on a small round base. The new skaven are now, however, calling to me and my old rat-roots. I could Khorne those bad boys up a treat.

I know my friends that I play with wouldn't object even if I used high elves for lesser daemons.

To the point:

1. What do people think about using weird models for lesser daemons? Does anyone have any better suggestions?

2. Would you personally object to models used as such? Have you any similar experiences (for example in tournament play) with peoples objections?

Forever alone

Lesser Daemons should be Daemons.

The plastic Bloodletters will do fine, and you can use them as part of a standalone Daemon army or in Apocalypse games with your World Eaters.

You can also buy them so you can stare at them and then cry because GW took away the fun codex.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

1. As long as the model is not confusing, I'm all for you using whatever model you want. Skeletons or zombies could make could daemons in a Nurgle army. Skaven as daemons could be cool, especilly if you do Khornify them.

2. No experience. I do know that some people have suggested using Lesser Daemon rules to represent Cultist armies with Alpha Legion.

Dude. Daemons come in all shapes, sizes and forms. As long as it look ssomewhat cruel and it could hop/lumbler/slide/crawl/stride/hover along, I'd let you field it.

Oh, and btw: Lesser Daemons dont have any models. The bloodletters/Daemonettes do. Lessers dont. You, my friend, can do what you want with WYSIWYG

When you call an intimate moment with your partner "the Assault Phase"

Is that followed by a pile-in move?

That brings a whole new meaning to the term "Hit and Run"

Can that be following a deep strike, or do you have to wait until the next round?

That's some dangerous talk there, friend. Give me any excuse to buy the new Death master Snitch model! Possibly a summoned greater daemon?

Dangerous maybe, but totally true. I agree, make them out of whatever you want as long as they are WYSIWYG and look the part. Id still alow you to use them, even if you used my little ponies, tho I wouldnt be very happy about it

I made up columns of meat with arms and bits coming out, like less well made vs. of spawn. Kinda went all out. One is nothing but doors, with tentacles coming out of one open door. Another is spikes with a dead Tau on it.

I have one with nothing but eyes, eleven eyes. The kids thought it was cool, but got THE LOOK from the Wife.

Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

I think that skaven would work find for lesser demons. I might balk at deathmaster snitch for a greater unless you raised his height with a dramatic base or something. Monstrous creatures should be monstrous sized with the line of sight rules that we have in this edition.

If you want to convert Skaven or whatever, go for it. But please, no Skeletons.

Lesser Daemons can look like anything, as long as it's converted and painted to look different. Other common conversions / substitutions include WE Dryads and VC Ghouls. Plus, there are all of the old Daemons to work with, like the big hands Horrors.

I'm planning on Dryad-based Lesser Daemons, so of course I wouldn't object. People should tolerate pretty much anything of appropriate size as a Lesser Daemon.

Columbus, Oh

If you want to go cheap.. and willing to go out-side GW..

Check out the WoTC mini game Dreamblade.. pre-painted yes, but a LOT of the commons would work wonderfully as Lesser Daemons..

They are certainly interesting models Porkuslime. If I go down the none-GW route, however, I'll have to start buying Beautiful hell dorado models as well . Where will it end?

I use plenty of none GW parts in various conversions but try to avoid whole models.
