Does anyone know where i can get suitable models for the elite of the space marines? I was hoping to build an army of them using the BT codex. Any help appreciated.

I think grey knights and Marnius Calgars honor guard is the best you can do on this. The only other option is heavily green stuff and convert regular space marines. (I think Daemon Hunters codex is best but BT could work)

And heaven forbid if the Marine would also happen to have an intimidating looking, vertical scar. Then you're surly boned. Those guys are the worst. Not a chance I'd say.

I would use the Daemonhunters Codex, and converted plastic Marines with GK weapons.

Adeptus Custodes are very powerful, above and beyond even the Grey Knights and Khorne Berzerkers when it comes to skill. You probably couldn't represent them with any SM unit at the moment.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I want to say there was a WD that had a conversion for Custodes. I think it came out about the same time as the Grey Knights.

Custodes are merely a fraction stronger and/or more skilled then a 'standard' Space Marine, though their creation processes are drastically different. Reed Blood Games, short story written by Dan Abnett IIRC.

Custodes traditionally field as Grey Knights.

Model-wise, most conversions simply modify High Elf pointy heads.

Whilst not necessarily stronger, they undergo massive training and are probably extremely powerful beings. If you want to be the bodyguard of the big E you are probably
- A pariah or a extremely powerful psycher Grey Knight style
- The best.

I don't know of many marines that could go through the blood games really, it's insane how that marine gets that close to the emperor.

Also, Custodes probably have the most up to date armor and weapons available. Like every one of them has MK8 or 9 (whichever is most recent) Artificer armor.

This is all really speculation by muah but really, the imperials would do anything to protect their God.

Look here. http://davetaylorminiatures.blogspot.com/2009/01/some-other-armies-as-requested.html

About halfway down is a pic of Dave Taylor's Custodes. Pretty much Grey knights with elf helmets.

If you can find "The Horus Heresy collected visions" it has a bunch of art from the old CCG of the Custodes.
I think there is even some fluff in there.

The regular Custodes look great, but the Termies are rather disappointing.

Interesting...I actually think the termies look better than the "Pointy heads are too small" regular custodes.

Custodes are *supposed* to be pointy head Marines!

I know, but not "pointy heads that are TOO SMALL" marines. ;-)

To clarify, I think the elf heads make the marine heads look too small. I.E not to scale... That's all I'm sayin'.

Oh, OK.

Tho if you look at most of the GW artwork, SM heads have become really tiny compared to the bodies.

Considering they are walking around in ancient (as in relics) gold armor, they must be paid pretty well.
