Hey guys, quick question.

I am, of course, getting MW2 when it comes out in a few weeks (YAAAAAS!)

However, I'd quite like to buy something the now to tide me over, and two games have shown up on my Maybe-radar!

Dragon Age Origins and Borderlands.

However, which one should I get? Anyone got any experience with these games??

I would not have put them in a catagory to compare, really.

I am getting Dragon Age, myself.
Borderlands looks like it may be fun, but I am not sure it is my style.

As an addition, being able to spend the 100s of hours NOT needing/wanting/feeling like I miss something by not having party members is a plus to me.

Borderlands seems like Diable-esqu MMO-lite. Sure a bazillion options exsist, but when there are obviously better choices and most varients look the same (palette swaps do not count!) it does not really add as much as it should.

Also, I like a good story - and Bioware has told some great ones.

If you're looking for story and characters, I would not recommend Borderlands.

That being said, the gameplay is very addicting and the co-op makes it even better. Like kirsanth said, it reminds me of FPS Diablo.

Bioware has never let me down, so I'll be getting DA:O as well.

FPS Diablo has a name you know.

It's called Hellgate: London.

I really depends on your circumstances and what type of games you like.

Borderlands looks sweet, but when me and my mates manage to get ourselves organised enough to play on-line we go straight for Left4Dead. I just don't see where Borderlands will fit for me.

But after dinner, sitting down with a cup of tea I have I like the more mellow experience of a strategy game or rpg. I think a single player player tactical rpg like Dragon Age will fit the bill nicely.

So that's my choice, but it's based on my life.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Correction: It WAS called Hellgate: London. Sure, you can play it on your own box, still, but the servers have long since shut down. After only a few months. Probably the quickest MMO ever to be shut down.

It was ok, but it got boring fast.

I will be getting Dragon Age, as I like a good story.

Did anyone else see the 2d tactical prelude, Dragon Age: Journeys?

It has unlocks for Origins.

Oh, and on topic (Shut up, I don't want to just post the image) I am not a fan of Dragon Age. The combat sucks, and even Mage gets boring after a while. If I want a good story with crappy gameplay, I'll ready a book.

As for Borderlands, it's a very quirky game, but it'll get repetitive pretty quick. It's got a lot of humor with great gameplay, but once you've gone halfway through the game, there's basically nothing new. (Except for the DLC, apparently, though I personally didn't want to spend my money on it).

Like Anshal said, ditch 'em both, buy something good. Haven't played the Baldur's Gate series, but I've heard many good things.

Borderlands is a FAR better multiplayer game. If you are going to play single player only, buy Dragon Age.

Borderlands alone is just not that great. Multiple people over XBox Live is good, even just split screen with a buddy is fun. Alone sucks.
