I just got space hulk and I have played a few missions but i was wondering if anyone thought up any new squads/combos to replace termis maybe Death company sticking with blood angels assualt idea unless the entire assualt force is Termis which I Doubt. Maybe using different races such as Chaos or Imps? If anyone has any ideas id love to hear them.

Really any race other than nids or maybe even some different enemies than genestealer Lictor, Gaunts,Orks, Kroot, Eldar Corasir, Human Pirates. Less of horror and more of a new game style taking place on a ship.

Going off that train of thought maybe they could be Storm/Defenders gaurdians, no Aspect warriors other than maybe dire avengers, and Striking Scorpians. Autarch leader like prince Iriel.

I would've thought it would be more likely to be Aspect Warriors investigating Derelict ships (or maybe even rangers on that note) rather than civilians? However can you imagine how cool it would be to have Dire Avengers and the like in Space Hulk, that'd be cool!

The Gaurdian were suppose to be the corsair but aspects warriors would be perfect for investigate a derlict ship but why would Eldar board a derlict space ship maybe if some rangers told them to investigate.

There was something like this for the original or 2nd ed set.

Alternate forces for spacehulk. Orks, Eldar, regular marines and guard, as well as hybrids and larger Tyranid creatures and up to dreadnoughts (but 1st ed had some 3 square wide corridors that would allow the use of them).

[Yes, I know Space Crusade ALSO did this, but I am talking about the Space Hulk versions.]

I'll see if I can find them (I have them as a pdf also).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

I've been trying to figure out how to adapt Guard Grenadier/Stormtrooper "kill-teams" as the protagonist, and using Plague Zombies as the antagonists.

Nothing says "GASP!" like masses of swarming zombies coming at highly trained Guardsmen, am I right?

A Space Hulk Termie squad is worth 200 to 230 pts, so you can take similar points of other stuff, more-or-less.

Personally, I'd take an IG entry team:
- 1 Lieut. (PW / PF)
- 2 Specials (SB / Vox / Medic)
- 4 Heavies (HF / AC)
- 4 grunts (?)
Points-wise, this is a PCS+HWS to keep the model count down.

Some minor adjustment for being Guardsmen instead of Termies would be appropriate, like requiring Lasguns to double-tap Genestealers, and automatically dying to GS in HtH.
____

BTW, I like the IG vs Zombies suggestion.

It might as well be, frankly!

Ships make for awesome objectives. The cramped confines, the narrow firelanes, the feeling of always being watched?

They could also be translated well into fighting inside a research facility, a bunker, any number of things.

See, an IG entry team(in my opinion at least) would be better suited to taking the place of the Tyranids rather than the Terminators.

While it would retain the rule of cool--it just wouldn't be that...believable as an "elite" force. Or if you REALLY want to do it that way--downgrade the GSes to Gaunts.

My friends and I play a very fun zombie game type. We each get to take 150pts of infantry, and try to survive against a horde of zombies that gets more rienforcements each turn. It is best played on a heavily destroyed cityscape. We are also trying to convert our game into a space hulk scenario, but it is proving to be a challenge.

Did something like that a few years back, actually Gideon

If you want a fun way to really liven it up?

Add in, towards turn 4-5ish, a Death Guard "Sorcerer" leading the plague swarms. Have the aforementioned Sorcerer having a very basic statline, and create an ability that allows them to raise or bolster a "swarm". It's quite fun that way.

For a bit of "balance", you can also have it set so that one Guardsman(equipped with a Vox) can request fire support/airstrikes. Heck, you can even add a nifty little bit where random Guard forces will link up with the "survivors" and hold out that way.

Think of every zombie movie you've ever watched, and work from there. The most fun I ever had though, was when I had a Sentinel stray into the combat zone, armed with a Heavy Flamer. Man did that thing cause some havoc till it got dragged down!

Those are some great ideas, i love zombie game modes because each time you lose a soldier, you feel a little upset and disapointed. It realy is a great way to have some fun.

We play so that between each wave, you roll a dice, on a 1 you lose 2 soldiers. on a 2 you lose 1 soldier, 3 you lose none, 4 you get 20 points to buy new stuff,5,6 are similar and points related. This is used to simulate scavenging missions etc...

Relative to Guardsmen, "rage" Zombies are like Genestealers against Termies.

If you want to play Zombie games there are several sets of rules on the market. I can't recommend anything from personal experience but have a rootle around on Teh Internets and TMP.com and you will find plenty to choose from, some of them free!

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

No, just old.

Tau were 3rd ed. Like Dark Eldar.

Lack of fluff for either is simply due to the fact the other races are all older in the game - SM, Orks, Eldar and CSM have all had 22 years of fluff done for them.
SoB and Guard (as we know them now, different from the 'Imperial Army' of RT) were from 2nd ed (but GK came in with Slaves to Darkness in RT (iirc). Necrons were also late 2nd, I believe - as were SM having different chapter books.

That's completely doable, Boss. After all--there's an entire Ork sector that's under siege by Tyranids right now. You'd think the Orks have some kind of "Let's Get 'Em Up Dere Boyz!" force out there.

I say I would be awesome to have warp spiders intead of termies and istead of command points you could make that many warp jumps to any where in line of sight
It would be so Epic

Quoted from "The Defenestrator":
"Yes, I don't buy into the goody goody image the Tau PR machine has churned out . They're all dirty cold-blooded space-communists if you ask me! Besides, their shiny, selfless "we love everyone for the Greater Good" vibe is so unfitting for the "lulz we're all badass jerks" future of 40k. GW needs to play up their cold, calculating, "join us or die, and probably still die anyway" Borg-y style. That's just me of course."

Altanis wrote Vindicare. Hes like Santa he watches when your sleeping. He knows when your awake. I doesn't matter if youve been bad or good because the inquisition put a hit out on you and a shield breaker round is gonna go through your head when your eating your weaties.

Or maybe a team of daemonhunters attempting to blow up a Plaguebearer infested ship. Or a brood of Nids attacking a SM ship.
